Reasons why Kris Mayes may not have sought indictments against Donald Trump.

(1) Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee and we are in the same calendar year as the presidential election. Prudence might dictate no charges before Nov., especially with a 7-year statute of limitations
(2) There are so many cases in the pipeline between NY, D.C., FL, and GA, that trying to jump in line and charge him with these other defendants might be a headache.

(3) By waiting, she can get deals and cooperation from these defendants and then take on Trump one-on-one.
(4) By waiting out the Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity and the November election, a cleaner prosecution could go forward against Trump that has fewer legal uncertainties and political issues.

I have no idea what the thinking is, but that could be a few reasons.

Here's a thread of my favorite quotes from Jensen Huang's interview with Patrick Collison at Stripe sessions today. There was so much wisdom packed into 1 hour!

BTW fun fact: Jensen's first job was cleaning toilets.

🧵Nuggets of wisdom from Jensen Huang:
Jensen has 60 direct reports. He believes that having less hierarchy creates more equal access to information. So no 1-1s:
“I give you feedback right there in front of everybody. Learning from other people’s mistakes is the best way to learn. Why learn from your own mistakes?"
Jensen doesn't like to fire people:

"I would rather improve you than give up on you."
"I’d rather torture them into greatness”

Arizona grand jury has indicted 7 attorneys and aides affiliated with Trump’s 2020 presidential crimes as well as 11 Arizona Republicans on felony charges
Meadows, Giuliani, Ellis, Eastman, Bobb, Epshteyn, and Mike Roman were indicted. Trump named as an unindicted co-conspirator
Why was Trump not indicted?washingtonpost.com/national-secur…
Also earlier today, Trump, Mark Meadows, and Rudy Giuliani were named unindicted co-conspirators in the Michigan attorney general's case against the state's so-called "fake electors" crimes. Again why weren't they indicted?

Justice Department conducting criminal investigation of McKinsey! Check out the WSJ article below.

In my recent column, “Incubator of Extremism and Cauldron of Corruption”, I highlighted a Sanders-McKinsey link. 1/3 🧵
Image
“The divergence is also seen in Sanders completely ignoring consulting firm McKinsey & Company's guilt in the opioid crisis, proved by their paying $5.4 million to Arkansas, and awarding them a like amount ($5.3 million) for consulting on improving the executive branch,…” 2/3
“turning a blind eye to the firm’s liability in the death of hundreds of Arkansans. This is a blatant disregard for the health of all our citizens, and an outrageous disconnect from every resident’s welfare.” 3/3

BREAKING: A grand jury in Arizona has indicted 11 people who were allegedly part of a "fake electors" scheme designed to give Arizona's 2020 electoral votes to former Pres. Donald Trump, who lost the state to President Joe Biden.
The 11 "fake electors" include: Kelli Ward, Tyler Bowyer, Nancy Cottle, Jacob Hoffman, Anthony Kern, James Lamon, Robert Montgomery, Samuel Moorhead, Lorraine Pellegrino, Gregory Safsten, and Michael Ward.

Hoffman and Kern are sitting state senators.
After an investigation by Arizona AG Kris Mayes, the group is facing charges of fraud, forgery, and conspiracy – all felonies.

Arizona is the latest state to press charges against the alleged Trump fake electors schemes of 2020. Michigan electors were in court this week.

Anarco-capitalism drew me in because it seemed like an interesting subversion of anarchism & capitalism, an impossible pairing of 2 very different ideas. I was also introduced to #bitcoin & cryptocurrency.

I'm promoting Anarco-Communism, open source, etc.

Get in losers, we're gonna bust some corset myths. A🧵

Myth 1: not necessarily in so many words but visual! In the gif below we see a woman self-cinching a corset with, apparently, no chemise underneath (to protect the corset from sweat and to protect the skin from chafing)...
Image
Or if she does have a chemise, it's not high enough to protect her/the edge of the corset. This is a common mistake in "historical" fiction films and artwork. Corsets were not worn next to bare skin!

The next one is a continuation of What's Wrong With That Gif.
Myth 2) "Corsets were cinched all the way until they closed." Actually a typical corset would be laced with a 2"-4" gap. This allowed flexibility of the spine (the lacing, rather than boning, would stretch over the vertebrae) and some wiggle room in sizing. Body sizes fluctuate!

That $META earnings call was an absolute disaster. Zuck tried to convince his investors that AI is the future, when there's no real clear path to how it makes profit.

Then he tried to tie it into the metaverse.

At that point I bet a lot of people got PTSD, because the selling accelerated further...
The company plans to keep aggressively spending on their AI initiatives. I think Zuck said AI about 100 times without really articulating a vision as to how this converts to higher revenue and earnings.

But he did make it clear that the costs would be much higher than expected..
A lot of people probably remember similar talk regarding the metaverse.

At the time it was the future, it was an area of aggressive spend, but nobody could explain how all this spending would provide a return on the investment.

I think that scared people listening to the call.

Do you remember how bad the media’s “Covid lab leak” - the hypothesis that the virus came from a lab - coverage was?

I thought I did. But it was a more dramatic example of uniform media malpractice than even I remembered.

So I revisited it. Buckle in, it’s long. ⤵️
It started in Feb 2020 when @SenTomCotton suggested looking into the CCP lab studying bats near the initial cases in Wuhan.

The media were outraged. In a since-updated piece, @washingtonpost said the idea was a “conspiracy theory that has been repeatedly debunked by experts.”
Image
Image
It wasn’t just WaPo. Shortly thereafter, @nytimes trotted out a similar allegation, calling the lab leak hypothesis a “fringe theory” and a “tale” designed to inflame social media.

@CNN’s @ChrisCillizza said Cotton was “playing a dangerous game” with his suggestions.

With some talk on Twitter and elsewhere of Israel using high altitude EMP weapon on Iran, allow me to clarify. EMP warheads are either nuclear or non-nuclear. To my knowledge, high altitude EMP warheads, which are intended to knock out comms and the electrical grid over ...1/6
..large geographical regions are always nuclear, because the NNEMPs don't have anything like that necessary energy yield.

In NEMPs, the EMP is a secondary effect from the huge gamma radiation flux from the nuclear detonation, both directly and indirectly through the .. 2/6
