Initial results from the dating app deal-breaker survey.

An infographic with some basic descriptives: deal-breakers for men.

I have two ways of scoring the items: in this survey I asked people to indicate their willingness to reject a profile on a scale of 1 to 5, with five being an absolute certain rejection.

These figures are the percentage of men who gave the item a 5, or absolute rejection:

These are also absolute rejection, the % of 5's.

Septum piercings, single moms, and listed pronouns were relatively high up there.

Piercings in general only had a 4.55% absolute rejection, for comparison.

Here I have items categorized by "high score," so totalling up the rating given across participants and presenting them as a percentage of a maximum total.

Here are some of the low scores: what men didn't care about very much.

Alcohol use doesn't seem to matter much (unlike drugs and tobacco).

The two religion items (not being a Christian and alternative spiritual beliefs) also didn't result in much rejection.

The only two items across the entire survey that got over 50% absolute rejection were the OF and Venmo questions.

Even items like "woman has a disorderly appearance" only got 10% of men who said they would absolutely swipe left.

Good news for messy girls!

I haven't even looked at the female data yet, so - coming soon.
