This is a thread on guns:

I just did a health exam for life insurance at my house: full work up of urine, blood, EKG.
But at no point in the process has anyone asked if I own a gun or if there is a gun in our house. I find that curious.
Guns, as we all know, are a leading cause of death in the US. Repu licans fought for years to keep CDC from researching that, but it's pretty darn obvious.
And given that insurance companies aren't beholden to government, we know they know this. So here is my question:
Is there a life insurance company that won't give policies to gun owners or hobbyists? And how do I get in on that? You have to figure, this would be a better risk pool. So is this happening?
If it isn't happening, then why not? Is there a law that prevents insurance companies from factoring in this particular health risk? I'd like to know and I'm sure others would too. Why should I subsidize their risk?
