Reminder that almost every police movie or TV show depicts police killing people and being celebrated for it. Now at least some shows have started to depict police violence as a problem with real consequences for people, their families and communities.
How many people did the police kill in Bad Boys 1 and 2? Rush Hours 1, 2 and 3? 21 and 22 Jump Street? And these were supposed to be the comedies. The other police movies are much, much worse.
You don’t realize it at the time. Who doesn’t like Rush Hour 3? And then you watch it again and you see Chris Tucker putting a gun to a guy’s head who’s unarmed and tied to a chair and he gives up the location of Genevieve and that’s supposed to be a good LAPD interrogation?
