Huge thanks to all our speakers and the audience for a very stimulating #BrexitTransitions event.

Some thoughts:

1/
Main one is that it's too easy to just see transition as a technical exercise, the random bit between leaving the EU and the future relationship

2/
Transition (in any form) matters well beyond that, both in its form and the markers it lays down

3/
In particular, the likely difficulties of agreeing that future relationship and the general unwillingness of the Gvt to change anything until it has to (h/t @davidallengreen) mean that if extension is needed then we might have to live w these choices for some time yet

4/
In the rush to agree the WA (itself important), we shouldn't lose sight of this intermediate step and what it implies, both domestically and in UK-EU relations
