ever acute @RogerPielkeJr pointed out that most recent climate scare (10% GDP by 2100) is fake even under already inflated assumptions. Under RCP4.5, estimated costs in 2100 about 1% of GDP (less likely RCP8.5 ~2.3%). Re-assuring, not scary.
2/ Pielke showed this image of CNN's lurid claim, also citing NYT, and raised question about who was responsible for error.
3/ For context, a 1% reduction in GDP in 2100 is equivalent to a 0.01% reduction in annual GDP growth. Even their lurid (but not supported) claim of 10% reduction in GDP in 2100 equals a 0.1% reduction in growth. Doesn't seem like a strong argument.
