I've long been skeptical of this. For instance, Sanders is super-popular in VT. Which tells us that people in Ohio or Florida will like him more than Warren with her lower numbers in MA? Why, exactly? There are lots of idiosyncratic reasons that won't apply nationally. 1/3
Is there something that MA voters know about Warren or VT voters know about Sanders that has been kept secret from the rest of us? They're both national figures. We have a pretty good idea of who they are. 2/3
Warren's numbers at home have always been something of a mystery. I've never heard a good explanation of why they aren't higher. But until someone can tell me what it is, AND why that specific thing means she's less electable nationally, I'll reserve judgment. 3/3
