I guess the question I want to hear the answer to after yesterday's speech is how Bernie Sanders thinks his Democratic socialism makes him distinct from the other candidates.
Generally this argument is used in the context of saying that FDR and Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and Harry Truman and JFK and LBJ were all wrongly accused of enacting socialism; Sanders uses it to say they were enacting socialism and that's good.
Is there anything in the speech that wouldn't fit if Sanders were calling himself a "New Deal liberal" instead of a "democratic socialist"?
