I did a deep dive Mr. Diablo. I don’t rely on twitter for info. I’m a researcher and looked at past articles and much of your public writing. Won’t say all, but enough to get the gist of your train of thought.
In fact I still am trying to determine how FN came to adopt left libertarianism.
That seems to be the crux of current FN belief system. Strange to me as an indigenous person. Since it is counterintuitive to the beliefs and values I was raised with.
I agree treaty rights are under threat. But not by Trudeau.
But I also am quite aware that the concerns, safety and well-being of the rest of Canada’s citizens isn’t on your radar.
As one of those citizens, I’m a bit disappointed and concerned.
Demanding this nation hand over all control of resources and smearing the one and only PM who has ever tried to address indigenous issues to indigenous advantage is a stance I would expect from the far right. Not from the indigenous community.
Coordinated attacks by FN with this agenda haven’t escaped those of us who follow indigenous politics.
I sent you that Atlas Network report about 20 FN recruited to undermine FN by selling “free market” ideology months ago. You’ve never addressed it. Never even acknowledged it.
Atlas Network is undermining indigenous peoples globally. Not just in Canada. Venezuela is a primary example. Yet the focus to remove Trudeau remains.
Ignoring troublesome facts and amplifying perceived injustices is a populist‘s game.
There certainly is no shortage of populism in Canada.
As an ally to FN treaty rights, I’m open to explanations for understanding of current push to remove Trudeau and the Liberals from power.
I plead for clarity at your leisure.
Considering world politics is essential for nations that want to preserve or promote their sovereignty.
Canada, represented by PMJT and Chrystia Freeland, are standing on the side of global indigenous peoples by condemning China’s treatment of Uighurs.
Where does FN community stand on Uighur human rights violations?
If you want to receive nation to nation consideration, maybe start acting like an independent nation and pick a side. That’s what responsible ethical national governments do.
Rather than allow Canada to speak for FN, pick a side and declare it to the UN.
Each FN could do this independent of Canadian Government. It’s how Canada, the nation, became independent of British rule.
Rather than letting Britain declare war for all commonwealth nations at the same time as British Parliament declared war for the UK, Canadian Parliament announced its sovereignty on the world stage in 1939 by making the declaration of war independent of the British Empire.
Canada declared war as an independent nation on the world stage. Announcing their independence and sovereignty at the same time. Eight years after independence was provided in writing.
Pick a side. Indigenous people in China are being herded into camps and human engineering is a cultural genocide. Far more efficient and effective than the genocide inflicted on Canadian indigenous peoples. Within a generation, the Uighurs May no longer exist in their homeland.
But, given the FIPA signed by Harper, not impossible to believe similar initiatives could be implemented here in Canada, on our indigenous citizens, if a CPC Government is elected, the Constitution dismantled and Charter rights and freedoms abolished.
As it stands, that is the CPC plan. To open and dismantle the Constitution and declare Canada a Republic. Absolving Canada from recognizing all treaties signed with indigenous peoples.
As a response to FIPA and the Chinese investment in natural resources.
It is foolish to only look within for conflict and injustices. A nation needs to be aware and respond to all threats. Most especially foreign threats.
Mr. Diabo, China is showing the world what it does to those who stand in its way or dissent. Uighurs, Hong Kong democracy protesters, Taiwan, Falun Gong, Tibet, foreign support for Hong Kong in Canada and Australia.
When a government tells you who they are, believe them.
When a political party (i.e. CPC) signs over control of Canada’s sovereignty to a foreign government to fill the pocket books of its wealthy supporters, you do anything it takes to block that party from power.
That’s in every FN self interest, as well as mainstream Canada.
Unless you are aware of world politics, you might miss that nuance in modern treaties.
Please, look at the bigger picture. We are all under extreme threat and need to unite to protect ourselves, not divide so we can be conquered and reprogrammed into submission.
Somehow TBA and UCP will spin rationales and rhetoric blaming PMJT for their decision making depriving vulnerable people in care of health and safety regulations.
But this was why PMJT and the feds insisted on “strings” being attached. “Strings” keep people accountable.
Premiers compromised healthcare services, during a pandemic, refused additional funding from the feds if it came with reporting & national targets. The public accepted the reasoning of con and NDP premiers. Doug Ford was re-elected. Houston PC’s replaced a liberal govt.
In 2020, I noticed a weird connection between North American Christian evangelicals and Israeli Jews. Stockwell Day sat on the Canadian version of the BOD for an obscure non profit International Fellowship of Christian and Jews that has raised hundreds of millions.
Generally it means not able to discern reality from fantasy created by their mental illness.
Like any of the following untreated mental illnesses:, bipolar disorder, paranoid schizophrenia, drug induced psychosis.
As far as I can tell, Trump knows his goose is cooked.
I’ve met people who committed murder while untreated and suffering from a mental illness. They are overwhelmed by how out of control they are. They can remember the events but did not have the ability to remain tethered to reality. Like the movie “A Beautiful Mind”.
We have all seen PP tweets that ask supporters to sign up to fight inflation, remove the carbon tax, get tough on crime.
Well, the people who do sign up are then inundated with varying types of information to sway their opinion. Snail mail pamphlets, email, texts, etc.
They all have a similar narrative, but not the same source.
The sheer number of messages convinces even the least gullible that theee may be some merit to this information since so many different sources are all saying the same thing.
Refusing to submit to the rule of law is an act of anarchy.
Presenting this situation as a minor tit-for-tat conflict seriously undermines the legitimacy of rule of law.
There are no options for rule of law. They either apply or they don’t.
That’s the conflict.
CBC might as well take out an ad supporting Saskatchewan’s premier and all the other premiers flouting rule of law (by refusing to abide by Supreme Court rulings).
Minimization of this issue comes at the cost of liberal democracy.
Today’s RCMP news conference is disappointing. But it’s also an opportunity to use framing.
I don’t mean put a positive spin on it.
It is positive that suspected crimes were found. While identity of the suspects remains unknown, we know UCP inherently has corruption issues.
The fact charges cannot be laid is disappointing.
But when has corruption ever been so neat and tidy that an authoritarian takeover of a democratic government would be so easily halted with an arrest of Kenney, a perp walk and shame on the UCP.
People who commit crimes are not easy to charge. While we can witness suspicious behaviour, that is not enough to lay charges or prosecute. But that’s in a court of law.
