This morning I saw a family being evicted from their home & it continues to be one of the worst things our society does. The idea that housing is not understood as a universal human right is so profoundly backwards.

Over 2 million ppl in the US evicted every yr. It's grotesque.
This has been well-documented by Matt Desmond & a host of other activists & scholars, but I still don't know that many ppl consider the amount of trauma this brings to a family, especially children. The emotional precariousness of not knowing where you're going to sleep at night.
There are few things worse than seeing a child, surrounded by boxes, standing outside of a home they've been kicked out of.
