The holidays approaching, when you have family members who voted for Trump, realize the error of their vote

🇺🇸DO NOT rub their nose in it🇺🇸
Instead perhaps ask them
What was the turning point?
What specific action did Trump or the GOP do that make you regret voting for them?
When you ask those kind of open ended questions - give them a chance to articulate their reasoning.
It might surprise you.
The deep divisions in our Country are NOT good.
We have to get to a place where we accept people’s apologies and then “move forward together”.
That ideologically we CAN (and should) have our differences but we still respect one another.
That’s what TRULY makes America Great.
Conversely the toxic Us v Them mentality will only further these divisions. And as a country we are paralyzed with hate & fear mongering. /3
Remember that understanding another person’s POV doesn’t mean you have to 100% agree with them.
In the POST Trump-Era we have to start remembering:
We ALL love our Country.
That compromise isn’t a dirty word.
That we have so much more in common then we differ.
🇺🇸E pluribus unum🇺🇸
ps if you’re wondering - YES this happened to me today. And when I say my family member was (operative word) a full on MAGA - that might be an understatement.
I asked them the 2 questions above and I was shocked (and delighted) at their response

“He’s just not fit to be POTUS”
