So folk may have noticed there’s a bit of a civil war been going on in recent years, where radical trans activists are claiming everything is transphobic, & are guilty of a lot of woke homophobia, particularly at lesbians, who are same sex attracted to females

Thread

Folk have tried redefining what it means to be a lesbian/gay man as “same gender attracted”, focusing solely on the word “lesbian” and ignoring “homosexual”, meaning “attracted to the same sex”, and are instead trying to redefine what the word “lesbian” means, ignoring that 2/18
lesbians are in fact female homosexuals.

So this civil war going on has pushed a lot of folk and the LGB Alliance was created, not as a hate group, but as an exclusionary group focusing solely on the issues of lesbians, gays and bisexuals. 3/18
Trans folk are welcome to join if they’re LGB, if they’re straight then it’s not a group for them, as it focuses solely on sexuality minorities, not gender or identity politics, but those from a minority sexuality. 4/18
Unfortunately the radical trans activist dubs this to be “transphobic”, whilst at the same time being wildly homophobic (an issue all on its own but there’s a lot of woke homophobia and internalised homophobia, hence we see many detransitioners now) 5/18
because it’s a group not focused on them. They said “if you’re unhappy make your own group”, then scream “you’re excluding us and are transphobic” when a group was created.

Do gays, lesbians and bisexuals deserve and need spaces purely for them? Yes.

Do gays, lesbians and bisexuals deserve and need an organisation focused solely on them? Yes.
Do gays, lesbians and bisexuals deserve and need safe spaces? Yes.
Do gays, lesbians and bisexuals need spaces where they can politically organise? Also yes.
7/18
There are many LGBT inclusive groups, there are many T exclusive groups that are only for trans people, there are groups only for lesbians, only for gay men, only for bisexuals, and there are inclusive groups for everyone.
8/18
Exclusive groups exist for many reasons be it as a safe space, somewhere to organise politically, a support group, somewhere to make friends, somewhere to receive help, somewhere to just socialise with folk who have a similar lived experience.
9/18
I’m a bisexual female, I would never demand to be in a lesbian space for I am not a lesbian... the point in exclusionary groups is that not everyone is included, it’s a safe space, and demanding to be in X space is ridiculous because it’s not all about you.
10/18
Sure it might not feel great not being allowed into a group but it doesn’t mean they hate you, it just means they need a space to talk about their issues without being spoken over.
11/18
There are plenty inclusive groups out there and folk need to stop losing their shit just because they’re not allowed in one. There are also several trans exclusive spaces, it doesn’t make them hate groups to not include cis people, it just means you need safe spaces
12/18
as trans people, spaces to speak solely about trans specific issues, and trans only support. Exclusive groups exist for multiple reasons but the main one? A safe space for X minority group.
13/18
And again to reiterate: if you are trans and lesbian, gay or bisexual? More than welcome, the LGB Alliance has many trans members who are LGB, but the stipulation is that you remember it’s not about trans issues, it’s focused solely on LGB related issues.
14/18
If you need a group focused on trans issues I would recommend finding trans exclusive spaces that are only focused on trans people, or LGBT inclusive spaces, but your best bet would be a trans exclusive group as they will be able to offer you better support as they’ll have
15/18
similar lived experiences, you’d be speaking to others who have a similar perspective as yourself, and the organisers would be able to help you a lot better than a group where you demand to be included.
16/18
Not everything is transphobic, to claim so is diluting the very word and it’s definition, so an exclusive group focused solely on sexuality minorities is NOT a hate group, it’s simply a group focusing on sexuality minorities, that’s it, nothing more, nothing less.
17/18
You can still be supportive of trans people and want a separate exclusive space, people are very capable of caring about multiple issues as separate entities.
