A message to the HR community: 🧵

There's much (understandable) stress in the HR community around #coronavirus #covid19. Our employees are stressed. Our leaders are looking to us for guidance. We're looking to each other - and we're helping. Here are some things we can do:

1/
We haven't experienced a global pandemic like this so there's no clear response playbook. We're (individually & collectively) building as we go. That why tools like the #OpenSource @googledocs on #Coronavirus comms are so important now.

2/
I realize not all of us are in a position to do share publicly, but the more we can open up our plans to help our peers gauge how others are responding the better position we'll all be to help guide our companies and employees through this.

3/
We, practitioners, need to take the lead on this, but we also need our institutions to step up. The @CIPD #Coronavirus hub below is a good example. More of this, please.

4/
I strongly encourage @SHRM to ungate the templates and resources behind their member paywall in the "Communicable Diseases" Member Resources. Their leadership and global reach can do a lot of good during this pandemic. Don't restrict that help to members-only. #SHRM

5/
HR leadership can be lonely and stressful under normal circumstances. The next few months will intensify those feelings. You're not alone. Tap into your communities, your networks, your phone-a-friends. Set aside your silos. We're all in this together.
