@drayeshaverrall Forget all the political rubbish. Do we have good experienced GPs. I am a brown migrant -KIWI for 25 yrs. Current GP is my 3rd (a Pakeha) has been him for 20 yrs. Of the previous 2 first was a crook- scammed the system, The 2nd was a moran. He did not know the difference ...
@drayeshaverrall Between diarrhoea & Crohn's. I know accountants have a system of a verifiable ongoing professional development system built into their membership same with many professions I don't know what kind of professional development GPs have if any. 2/
@drayeshaverrall I have not experienced racism in the health system as a patient. But they definitly use it against 3rd world country specialists (trained abroad). I can write a book about it. Give you just one examble. My SIL is a PhD, RDN. Was & is an US citizen came to NZ ...3/
@drayeshaverrall with her KIWI husband. She is back in the USA because she could not find a job. Her speciality OBESITY. As a specialist do you think you can pass the $2000 exam they give the migrant specialists?. That is away you keep them out. 4/
@drayeshaverrall Every GP wants to work in big cities. There is no incentive for them to work if rural areas. A young couple migrated to NZ, passed the exam worked in a hospital migrated to Australia. Not to work in the city but in rural Australia. They had all sort of benefit they saved..5/
@drayeshaverrall all most all their salary. After 10 years they used the savings to buy a house in the big city & moved there to work. The children were young so they could do that. If you want to improve rural health change it state-run system. ie GP, Medications, Blood samples all free. 6/
@drayeshaverrall You do that you will save a lot in the long run.
Yes NZ health system is fragmented. I am sure you have read this y Prof Michael Baker et al sciblogs.co.nz/public-health-… 7/7
I think there is a typo in your story. The tax rate for 30% goes up to 90K.
This is not an economic budget but political bullshit. Say you are a fulltime worker at an hourly rate of $18.90 gets just $8.08pw ($420 pa) tax benefit under this scheme.
If you are on $64G pa you get 46.54 PW which is $2420 pa. It even gets better if you are on 100K. You get a benefit of $58.08 pw or 3020 pa. This is again helping their rich buddies.
