Good Morning Gembrook!
Gembrook terminal station on the VR narrow gauge (2' 6" gauge) railway from Upper Ferntree Gully. Opened 1900 closed 1954. Subsequently re-opened 1998 Puffing Billy Railway - Belgrave to Gembrook. members.optusnet.com.au/~narrow.gauge/…
Gembrook yard had a number of timber tramway connections. The tramways varied over the years but they allowed transfer of timber to the VR goods trucks. Tramways were 3' 6" or 3' gauge. members.optusnet.com.au/~narrow.gauge/…

Note the NA is a compound. Loco is NA 4A built Newport June 1900. The other compound VR NA was 2A.
The line to Gembrook was closed in 1953 as a result of a landslide. The line officially reopened on Sunday 18 October 1998, a magnificent effort.
