Branched off at Birregurra, and ran through the foothills of the Otway Ranges to the town of Forrest.
Open to Deans Marsh on 19 Dec 1889, to Forrest on 5 Jun 1891. Line closed 1957.

Locomotive is a W class 4-6-0
These locos were built by Baldwin USA 1879-83
All the W locos were scrapped or sold off by 1926.

Six RM 70-75 1936. When introduced stationed at Forrest, Goroke, Avoca, Rushworth and Katamatite. Last in service was RM 72 at Forrest until 1952.
