The Tao of #TedLasso - 11 lessons for team-building and performance.

Now slap that Believe sign and dive in!πŸ‘‡
1) Use Analogies
Ideas need wings to fly. Connect the idea to an image and watch them soar.

Consider:
1. I want a united team
2. "When it comes to locker rooms, I like β€˜em just like my mother’s bathing suits. I only wanna see’em in one piece"

Guess which one is Teds.
2) Win with Kindness
β€œHe thinks he’s mad now. Wait till we win him over”.

Ted is surrounded by angry staff and players. They are not lost causes, but causes to be won.

He keeps at it, chipping away at fear and reinforcing kindness. You capture more flies with honey.
3) Forget
"You know what the happiest animal in the world is? A goldfish. It's got a 10 second memory."

You'll make mistakes. Have regrets. Remember slights.
Learn & move on to the next project or opportunity.

Shorten your memory to gain focus on what's next.
Be a goldfish.
4) Build Rapport
Every team experiences turbulence. It's easier to ride if you like each other.

Carve out time. Find common ground. There is always one thing to bond over.

If you need help, sugary baked goods are a shortcut to addictive rapport-building #BiscuitswiththeBoss
5) Be Consistent
@TedLasso's hidden trait of excellence.

Rain or shine or hungover, he's bringing it. His winning approach is not just positivity - it's being Relentless.

When your team knows what to expect, they know your expectations for them.
Be greatly consistent.
6) Lift Hidden Talent
It's unclear what Nathan does for the team. He doesn't speak and is bullied. Meanwhile, he's a prodigy of soccer strategy.

The #TedLasso formula for unleashing talent:
1. Offer a chance
2. Listen to ideas
3. Reward confidence
4. Watch contributions grow
7) Seize Problems
Your boss is hosting a major event and then BOOM - the main act @robbiewilliams cancels.

Options..
1. Hide at the open bar
2. Hit the streets & recruit a busker who tears the house down

Our best opportunities are disguised as problems. Seize them, creatively.
8) Forgive
You will be let down in business & in life. You may be 'right', but that won't heal the wrong.

Forgiveness can reset shared values and trust that wasn't there before.

You will meet bridge burners. Be the bridge builder. Connections make you and your team stronger.
9) Connect Greatness
We have interesting, talented networks. We can bet better at connecting them.

I've seen people with unrelated backgrounds and skills form unstoppable teams.

Steel sharpens steel. Be the blacksmith, bring steel together.
10) Be Honest
"I always thought that tea was gonna taste like hot brown water. You know what? I was right. It's horrible."

Honesty is often confused w/ directness. Fine - it's still more useful & appreciated than BS.

Be honest with little things to gain trust for big things
11) Belief = Action
Even @TedLasso knows it's not enough to slap the sign. Motivation and hope only gets you so far.

Belief is powerful when it's backed by action. You truly, deeply care about this? Don't tell me, show me.

To believe is to do.
