Republicans today have built an entire rhetoric around opposing:
- being “woke,” to remain ignorant
- “virtue signaling,” to mock anyone doing the right thing
- antifa, to support American fascism
- anti-racism, to continue courting racists
1/
- black lives matter, to keep killing innocent black ppl
- “political correctness,” to simply be assholes
- protecting trans kids, to be bullies
- social justice, to embrace inequality
- and their newest focus is stamping out “cancel culture” - or a boycott of boycotting.

How can any decent person support these people?
I truly miss the days when I could criticize Republican policy, but now this is all that’s left: fascist, racist bullies determined to undermine democracy and focused only on manipulating their offices to hold onto power.
3/
And tax policy?
#MoscowMitch just announced that all of their tax giveaways & incentives were simply corporate bribes that he’s eager to end as soon as a corporate leader makes a mild statement against the GOP.
There was never anything there about supporting businesses.
4/
Fiscal responsibility?
That’s been a GOP joke for decades, but keep in mind that their biggest criticism of Biden’s new infrastructure plan is that it will be paid for.
5/
National defense?
Nothing but saber-rattling and bullying, just like the GOP’s domestic policy. There’s no patience or even willingness to work on long-term solutions, and they’ve severely undermined foreign service in general.
6/
Seriously, if not the racism, misogyny & outright corruption, what is the honest appeal of the Republican Party?
Is it just fun to engage in their bizarre rhetoric?
Enlighten me.

The disbanding of the pandemic task force wasn’t a mistake, it was an ideological choice to NOT be prepared, and to let nature take its course.
For American conservatives, if we die from a natural disaster or from a natural cause, it’s our fault anyway.
1/
To them, the invisible hand of the market, of nature, or of God, will take care of us, and - like wearing seatbelts, locking up guns, reducing emissions - any other attempts to protect Americans are useless.

This response is a Trump failing, of course, but more than that it’s a Republican and Conservative failing.
US conservatives are so afraid of communism that they long ago abandoned all ideas of community as well.
3/
It’s worth asking why Trump & Republicans want to cut Medicare & Social Security. Why is such a small percentage of the federal budget such a focus?
Here’s why: they think a safety net makes you lazy.
1/
These guys, most of whom were born with a personal safety net worth millions, believe health & food security will make you stay home from work.
The thing is, it could.
2/
That is, if you’re grossly underpaid, in a demeaning or unsafe job, you may decide that it’s not worth losing your life or dignity over. You may decide to start your own company. You may decide to hold out for better pay.

If we’re going to follow the Bible on abortion, the book of Numbers explains how priests must cause an abortion for pregnancies from affairs.
Personally I think that’s extreme, but if the woman wants to follow the Bible, that should be up to her.
In other words, the new Georgia & Ohio anti-abortion laws discriminate against Christians’ freedom of religion by not allowing them to follow the requirements of the Bible.
Ohio’s enforcement is apparently even making clear that abortion isn’t allowed even in cases of rape, which is ideally not part of marriage at all.
