Governor Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) announces that he will suspend all local COVID-19 emergency orders in Florida.

Thank you, Florida. You will serve as a great control group of the biggest experiment in the history of mankind.
I just had a quick Zoom with @DrEricDing regarding the events in Florida.🎥👇🏼

Dr Simon: "Good evening Eric, thanks for joining from Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹. What is your personal opinion on @GovRonDeSantis' decision to sign an order to end all local COVID-19 restrictions in Florida?"
My GIF for you. :)

It's shocking and inexcusable that @nature published an article from @PeterHotez demanding a "high-level counteroffensive against destructive forces" (i.e. vaccine sceptics).

This is nothing but an unscientific and inflammatory propaganda campaign. Shame!…
His written outpourings even go further by blaming Russia 🇷🇺 to discredit Western vaccines and destabilize our democracies.

@PeterHotez - how can one single person be that hypocrite? It's you and like-minded people who are currently abolishing our democracy and human rights.
Reading this article will make you cringe in pain. @PeterHotez is everything but a scientist. Let's call the child by name: warmonger, shameless lobbyist, propagandist, etc.

Hey @nature - I think it's time for a public justification why you published this non-scientific "work".

1/: Dear #ZeroCovid fanatics, I sometimes wonder whether you are aware of what you are causing with your attitude. You mock and ridicule the majority of the pandemic’s victims. You trample on those who are now suicidal. You spit on all those who have lost their livelihood... ⬇️ Image
2/: You make fun of the suffering of those in poorer strata and poorer countries who are left behind by you. You are cynical and inhuman. And despite all this, people here on @Twitter are lashing out against those who question the overall situation.
3/: Public lists of dissidents are created, and people are hired to find skeletons in the critics' closets or simply to defame them. These borderline attacks come almost exclusively from the camp of people who "always feel like puking" as soon as we question the narrative.

1/20: Giving people false hopes while leaving the population in a permanent state of fear creates the best possible condition to implement fundamental changes in social and political structures. Knowing these tactics is the key to turn the situation in our favour. ⬇️a thread⬇️
2/20: Measures that are announced as “temporary” are not meant to be cancelled one day. Presumably, the purpose is to reset society through long-term social conditioning. However, changes in the form of measures have to be introduced gradually if they are to be successful.
3/20: Scared people are much more likely to hold firmly to hope - i.e. the government's promise that everything will be sorted out soon and that we will get back to normal. This promise, however, is contingent on conditions: follow the measures and do not question anything.

1/77: #Science and neutral reporting are increasingly being oppressed. This is only possible as we find ourselves in a continuous state of #fear. In this eye-opening ⬇️thread⬇️, I'll explain how this could have happened and what #consequences this development has on our lives.
2/: If scientists and politicians had to display their sponsors publicly, those currently in the spotlight would most likely look like these astronauts, who are misleading the public by attributing doomsday potential to the virus. #ToTheMoon
3/: I am writing this thread as I am very annoyed that all 'conspiracy theories' are becoming a reality, and it seems like there are just a handful of people who are pulling strings. In my perception, it’s a setup with hardly any powerful antagonists.

1/: Social gatherings (i.e. more than one household) are prohibited in the Netherlands, yet they're a human right. I'm having a BBQ on the university campus right now, and it's good to see that young people don't accept governmental oppressions. Illegal parties everywhere. ⬇️ Image
2/: It's so good to see that students aren't giving up their freedoms that easily, and are still enjoying life. Over here, the virus becomes super contagious from 10 pm until 4:30 am. That's why the Dutch government implemented the "avondklok" (curfew).
3/: So parties either go until 4:30 (that's when people are allowed to leave the house again), or the participants take secret paths to sneak back home. In the small university town of Wageningen that's not a problem as there are only two police cars.

1/: Scientific integrity is a valuable commodity. What happens when external funders take influence on both scientific™ findings and media coverage can be seen in the current global crisis. It is time to return to the fundamental principles of science: ⬇️A thread⬇️
2/: In this thread, I will roughly explain why #empiricism and #repeatability are important factors for science and why model approaches should be interpreted with caution (and that is what I am saying as a modeller).
3/: I am aware that the principle of science is far more profound than explained in this thread, but this thread is written for laymen on @twitter and not for the lecture room. Also, within the scientific community, there is no clear consensus about this topic either.
