This was in 2011. Then in 2017 he popped up in medieval social media spaces where he decided he is the authority to discuss "race" & social justice in medieval studies. I asked in a FB group if he were the Tom McMaster who has been previously I.D. as Gay Girl from Damascus. 32/

The article comments are a toxic, white supremacist, fascist supporting hot mess. Apparently, McMaster feel there has been no evidence that RFB is linked w/ violent far right (even as RFB wrote for Br**tbart, dangerous, now is a Q**non pundit, & is Milo's best friend). 35/

What's interesting is how many "liberals," we are "antiracist" white scholars when told that what they do supports structural racism basically decide to do victim-blaming DARVO-& call us racist & violent. They then run & join medieval 4chan to talk to WS violent types 42/

To air their white grievance & white rage. Ex. Guy Halsall, a medieval historian, who declares he is antiracist & leftist, but when MRO, I, or others have pointed to the racist term A-S, called two grad. students nasty names including "twat." 43/

But supporting, talking to, sharing toxic white grievance that often discusses ways to attack, harass, doxx, etc. BIWOC scholars, somehow is more a priority than the thin veneer of being a "liberal" antiracist. The group literally has violent, outed white supremacists in it. 45/

The white supremacist, far right radicalization is pretty easy in medieval studies as you can see from that group. They can't even say the basic "no to violent fascists" b/c they need the medieval 4chan space to spew their medieval white rage & grievance that BIPOC scholars 46/

are going to "replace them" even though there are less than 1% of us in the field, & as even the Harvard Business Review discusses about the statistics of hiring BIPOC ppl into positions, the curve is massively steep b/c structural racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia etc. 47/

And as we have seen publicly, it just grows, spreads, mushrooms. The researchers on digital far right have told people to DEPLATFORM them. It is hard to stop them on 3rd party sites, but what about scholarly platforms like conferences, etc. 48/ vice.com/en/article/bjb…

You can disagree w/ me or MRO, but do it in good faith, & have evidence-based analysis. Otherwise, no matter what you label yourself, your friendship, support, circulation within the alt-medieval is just a sign that you are supporting violent white supremacist fascists. 49/

So no matter if you say "I am antiracist, I am antifascist, I am against Violence against women," if you are supporting the alt-medieval, you are upholding WS. As recent events of doxxing MRO's parents have shown--talking, supporting, amplifying them means more violence. 50/
