The more things change, the more they say the same. This phrase sums up what I have learned from watching the 5 year smear campaign against #MeghanMarkle. Because I see how the people who regularly lie, abuse, & threaten her will use the same playbook slave owners used. How so?
1. Slave owners wanted to create an atmosphere of disunity among the enslaved. How it's used now? The rise of 'Digital Blackface' where a person is pretending to be Black (a person of African descent) by using the profile photos of Black people. nbcit.org/digital-blackf…
These fake accounts will regularly post "I'm black or biracial" and I don't like Meghan. But will not be able to carry a conversation based on the ethnicity they have chosen. If you dislike Meghan based on her ethnicity, just be honest. No need to pretend to be another race.
2. Another tactic Slave owners used was colourism. In order, to create an atmosphere of disunity among the enslaved. How many times will people question why do you support Meghan when she is light skinned? Or these people will falsely claim she said she was white.
#MeghanMarkle I'm More Than An 'Other'. 'Suits' star Meghan Markle on creating her identity and finding her voice as a mixed race woman. Originally written in July 2015 published in ELLE Magazine in 2015. tinyurl.com/3usx7tuz
3. The next tactic used by slave owners was of course punishment. Ever since #MeghanMarkle married into the royal family, people have been looking to punish her. The Invisible Contract Is No Longer Invisible. sussexsquad.com/the-invisible-… via @sussexsquadpod
Reminder: Meghan became a princess of the United Kingdom upon her marriage to #PrinceHarry entitled to the style of Royal Highness. After her marriage, she was styled "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex". She also holds the titles of Countess of Dumbarton & Baroness Kilkeel
Meaning while there are no obligatory codes of behaviour to meet a member of the Royal Family, many people observe the traditional forms. For men this is a neck bow (from the head only) whilst women do a small curtsy. Other people prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way.
So this is a dilemma for people who both love the monarchy & are racist. They have to show respect to the black princess. To counteract this, these people try to punish Meghan. Mainly by creating accounts making up lies about her & by harassing charities that work with her.
4. Lastly the next tactic slave owners used was compensation. Online, you will see people say "Meghan is cashing in" or "Meghan owes us" like she is a runaway slave. I have seen this before.
Britain's colonial shame: Slave-owners given huge payouts after independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…
The British government spent 20 million pounds (£20 billion in today's funds).
None of the money went to an individual slave. The government paid 46,000 owners for the loss of their ‘property’ instead.
This was done under the Slave Compensation Act of 1837.
They financed this bailout by borrowing the money and it was such a large amount, they only paid it off in 2015.
Who benefited? Researchers at University College London (UCL) have just finished a three-year study of British slave-owners and found the ancestors of novelists George Orwell and Graham Greene and the architect Sir George Gilbert Scott all owned slaves.
UCL has launched a new searchable database which allows people to look back and see whether their forebears were slave-owners.
The database is open to the public and allows anyone to find out details of the families involved in slavery in the Caribbean; Mauritius; and the Cape Colony (part of modern-day South Africa).
So. slave owners were compensated for the loss of their 'property'. Today you heard people complain about every penny spent on Meghan. It got so toxic that Harry paid back Frogmore Cottage. As seen in the Sovereign Grant report. Then calls to remove titles and citizenship.
Calls to pay back their wedding. Reminder: it was calculated that the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex generated £1 billion for the British economy in 2018 alone. Losing Meghan, Prince Harry and (Potentially) Billions of Pounds nytimes.com/2020/01/09/sty…
People are upset #MeghanMarkle has left the UK with her husband, son, and now has a new baby girl. The same people are upset about the Netflix and Spotify deals. Because they can't get compensated with money. But they can be compensated with fake stories to keep them outraged,
We could spend hours talking about the thousands of fake stories about Meghan. But we can focus on this one. Let’s Talk About Camilla Tominey’s Voracious Appetite For Lying meghanpedia.com/lets-talk-abou… via @meghanpedia
Racist people are not interested in an factual account of Meghan's interview with NPR. Instead, they will believe the lies from Camilla Tominey. But this will be the only form of compensation you will get from Meghan.
Because Meghan has moved on. Meghan Markle's children's book 'The Bench' is a No. 1 New York Times bestseller insider.com/meghan-markles… via @thisisinsider

So. Personally, I am not concerned with the opinions and thoughts of people using the same tactics from slave owners. Thank you to @fieldnegro for inspiring this post based on "The Willie Lynch playbook" article. field-negro.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-wi…
