what if there's literally nothing you can do about a pandemic
we frequently fall into this trap as humans of demanding two things:
1 - that someone is Responsible for Stuff and that
2 - Someone must Do Something about the Stuff
but oftentimes neither of these things are true
with the pandemic, you can look at the data from places that had draconian rules vs. places that were very laissez-faire, and over time, about the same percent of people got sick and the same percent of those died
about all that varied was how fast or slow it burned through
we're pretty awesome, we humans, there's a lot we can do! we've come a long way as a species and we should never forget that mother nature is a vicious bitch who would have every single one of us dead if she had our way, and we must fight against her tooth and nail
but in the end she'll always be more powerful than us, and sometimes we just need to accept that do the Reasonable thing for ourselves, the thing that we can all do that makes sense
not run around pointing fingers and demanding Somebody Do Something
take care of yourselves.

is this voting rights thing not a massive gaslight?
nobody can tell me who can’t vote but they all insist it’s happening
like do you have a single example?
you can't just gesture broadly
someone yesterday pointed to the new Georgia law that makes it illegal for poll workers to hand out water and snacks directly to people in line and I about lost my shit
how many times have you been in line to vote so long that you died of dehydration or starvation
