1. The video shows a large squad of personnel fallen in, two ranks deep. This video is reminiscent of a "Clear Lower Deck" in the Royal navy, where the command staff brief the ships company before a unit sails on operation...
2. and usually, depending on where the briefing is taking place, most of the time, the whole ships company is in attendance. If away from the ship, you wont see a full clear lower deck, because you tend to find that the "Duty watch" will remain on board the ship..
3. Now it is unknown the strength of the "Duty watch" on board Moskva, but it more then likely that this video was taken before the ship sailed. The reason being, there will be quite a few personnel from the engineering and warfare department prepping the ship to sail...
4. and as the vessel is old, she will most likely have some major defects that need to be sorted out prior to departure.
As we know, the ship sailed last weekend, and the weather around that time was, like it was seen in this video....
5. As a flagship, in any navy, you tend to find high ranking officers inspect the ship and meet the ships company, prior to there operation. And this is most likely the case we see here..
6. Ukrainian news outlets stated that the Moskva's CO was among the dead and along with a pretty sizable chunk of the ships company, which would make sense, if the ship suffered a catastrophic explosion..
7. Also to note, is the statement by an Ex Russian MP, They stated that around 50-60 personnel had survived the ships sinking, which if believed, is about 40% of the personnel we see in this video..
8. To summarise, I don't think this video was taken in the last 3 days. I believe it was taken at some point last week, prior to her departure as a way of trying to boost the BSF moral.
We might not know the full story for the next couple of days...
9. but, Russia does like to deflect the truth through propaganda. However, i will go out on a lim here and say, the sailor who is laughing in this video, has not just come from a sunk warship. You would not be smiling or laughing if you just lost your shipmates..
10. Even if you don't like your fellow shipmates, there are still people you get along with, and they are likely to have been lost. Your emotions will be sadness or grieve, and not laughing. Even if you have a dark sense of humour.
End of thread
let me know if you agree or not..

I think we should all celebrate this tactical victory for the Ukrainian Military because the loss of this unit, will have a massive knock on effect in the days and weeks to come
But as a Sailor ,I cant help but think about the persons on board who would have lost there lives
2/ Granted, people join the military to serve there country, and sometimes this involves a war. And all Current or Ex serving persons know this.
But there is something that hits hard inside me that, no matter if your in a given navy, or merchant marine, it hits home....
3/ Could be any of us who served.
Granted, in war, there are very bad people on each side. Some people that who commit war crimes are the worst.
But you do tend to find, persons in the Navy are "Better Humans" then there army counterparts...
