BREAKING: Ghislaine Maxwell is about to be sentenced at Manhattan federal court -- live link here, with survivors of Epstein and Maxwell arriving at the court to speak out publicly, both to the press and to Ghislaine herself, about their experiences:
In a case that's haunted the nation (not to mention many in the UK and beyond), Ghislaine Maxwell, 60, faces up to 55 years in prison after being convicted for trafficking minors to pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
For Epstein-Maxwell survivors, it has been a very long wait: Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges and Ghislaine Maxwell's trial only concluded late last year -- after many delays. #GhislaineMaxwell
Part of the reason it is so important for Epstein-Maxwell survivors to speak out publicly today, literally speak face-to-face with Ghislaine Maxwell about what she did to them, is because Ghislaine has continued to maintain her innocence.
Throughout Epstein's imprisonment and Ghislaine Maxwell's trial to the present day, many have been deeply frustrated that evidence clearly showing she helped Epstein recruit, groom and abuse minors has not led to more arrests and charges of the men who did the abusing.
Billionaires tied to Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell include: Bill Gates, Leslie Wexner & Leon Black -- all of whom took professional & reputational hits last year due to their close associations. Millionaires on that list include ex-Barclays CEO Jes Staley & Bill Clinton.
Ghislaine Maxwell, her legal team and her family have consistently maintained Ghislaine is not guilty -- even painted her as a victim -- but Ghislaine refuses to publicly name any of the perpetrators and won't tell her story to the press, despite numerous requests.
During Ghislaine Maxwell's trial, it emerged her role in Jeffrey Epstein's life was not solely about sex-trafficking; it was about the money: Offshore trusts, shell companies, nonprofits and many millions of dollars played an outsized role in her relationship with Epstein.
During Ghislaine’s trial, it emerged that, in all, $30.7 million was diverted from Jeffrey Epstein accounts and companies to Ghislaine, between 1999 and 2007. Maxwell also moved into a $4.95 million Manhattan townhouse bought by an anonymous LLC w/same address as J Epstein & Co.
During a Ted Talk in 2014, Ghislaine Maxwell said she’d formed her now-defunct nonprofit, TerraMar, to “dedicate the rest of my life” to ocean conservation and education. But it also turned out to be another way to receive funds from Epstein...
According to Ghislaine Maxwell's financial condition report, submitted for her trial by UK accounting firm Macalvins, TerraMar received $57,000 from the Epstein Interests Foundation in 2013. TerraMar was dissolved in 2019, the same year of Epstein’s arrest and death in prison.
Throughout the trial, Ghislaine Maxwell's brothers, Kevin and Ian Maxwell, as well as her twin sisters, Isabel and Christine Maxwell, rallied behind her in a public show of support. We found all of these siblings in SEC filings and a tax shelter leak on the island of Jersey.
This was an investigative deep-dive, released just days ago, which I was honored to work on with @benbwieder @MiamiHerald & @KevinGHall @OCCRP. This is what we found: Original (no paywall) story here: occrp.org/en/investigati…
And:amp.miamiherald.com/news/local/cri… amp.miamiherald.com/news/local/cri…
Our investigation showed the finances of the Maxwell siblings who attended Ghislaine's trial appear to be interlinked, with offshore tax shelters playing a key role. It is noteworthy all four of these Maxwell siblings appear on the same page of Jeffrey Epstein’s black book.
I have made press requests several times to speak directly with Ghislaine Maxwell to hear her story. Her silence -- especially in the face of this sentence -- serves neither her, nor the many abuse survivors. Her silence only serves those who have yet to see their day in court.
I have said this before and I will say it again: Anyone remaining silent about the abuse of minors and children are 100% enabling, abetting and perpetuating those crimes. Cycles of abuse pass through generations. It is a pain without end. Which is why the silencing must end.

Ghislaine Maxwell gets 20 years in prison for recruiting teenage girls for pedophile Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse from 1994 to 2004. Judge notes Ghislaine Maxwell did not express accountability or remorse.
From Ghislaine's statement to the court: "It is the greatest regret of my life that I ever met Jeffrey Epstein. I have had plenty of time to think, having spent two years in solitary confinement..."
"I believe that Jeffrey Epstein was a manipulative, cunning and controlling man who lived a profoundly compartmentalized life and fooled all those in his orbit. Variously, his victims considered him a godfather, mentor, benefactor, friend, lover..."

NEW: Crimes of Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell were never about just sex-trafficking. It was about the money. Deep-dive I did w/Pulitzer-winning @KevinGHall @OCCRP & @benbwieder @MiamiHerald, whose work helped put Epstein & Maxwell behind bars: occrp.org/en/investigati…
Leaked files from #UK tax shelter Jersey exposed the Wall Street trading activities of Ghislaine Maxwell's family, revealing how they occupied a parallel financial universe while hiding their finances offshore. All of it requires further investigation.@SECGov @FBI @TheJusticeDept
The Jersey files include secret stock transactions by Kevin and Ian Maxwell while Kevin was chairman of U.S. publicly traded company; the hiding and amassing of stock holdings; and related-party transactions that went unreported to investing public. Never before been reported.

OK, I've been distracted (from Twitter) last few days, which basically means I have not been distracted at all, but focused on non-Twitter things, aka real life, but going to have to pipe in on the Jeffrey Epstein news...
So, the Epstein chaos continues with U.S. Virgin Islands AG citing his estate co-executors' "direct participation in virtually all of the business operations & financial activities of Epstein's trafficking network, including facilitating forced marriages among Epstein's victims."
Details of forced Epstein marriages in this story here (out this week): abcnews.go.com/US/jeffrey-eps… But there's more...

Media: 'Is Ghislaine wearing suffragette white today?'
The rest of the world: 'Is anyone going to ask why Ghislaine was trained to fly multimillion-dollar, private, unregulated aircraft and licensed to operate submersible (underwater) vehicles across international borders?'
Media: 'Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier.'
The rest of the world: 'Please name one American financier who needs a 53-lb shredder, a tile-and-carpet extractor, a 30,000-lb Carmix self-loading concrete mixer and a 40,000-lb, portable jaw crusher.':theintercept.com/2019/07/09/jef…

Everyone else: 'Could we please close the loopholes on wealthy people sex-trafficking children on boats and private aircraft?'

While he was alive, Jeffrey Epstein repeatedly dodged exactly when he met Ghislaine Maxwell and flat-out denied to @VickyPJWard he ever knew Robert Maxwell. The below nugget paints a very different picture.
Epstein also denied meeting the high-ranking British defense contractor Sir Douglas Leese, who brokered major arms deals in Middle East. Leese's son, Julian, appeared surprised at Epstein's denial, telling @VickyPJWard, his father was a mentor of sorts to Epstein in the 1980s.
Sir Douglas Leese reportedly introduced Epstein to a range of people in his global intel, defense and security circles, including Robert Maxwell, who, according to an article by @VickyPJWard, sought Epstein for help with solving Maxwell’s “debt” issues: rollingstone.com/culture/cultur…

“Jersey is one of the most significant tax shelters in the world…If you speak up about corruption, you will have a very hard life. It’s made easy for you to do the wrong thing and your life is made very hard if you do the right things.” – Jersey Senator Stuart Syvret #UK Image
This note looks like a joke, but it is real. It was left in the letterbox of two brave Jersey politicians, Trevor Pitman (find him @bald_from) and his wife, Shona Pitman. Shona is not on Twitter, but you can follow or ask questions of Trevor on here.
Both Trevor and Shona, as politicians with the States of Jersey parliament, were fighting to address decades of child abuse issues on the island and other miscarriages of justice. For their efforts, they received horrific and anonymous threats like this one.
