As a former COVID19 contact tracer and cluster investigator, I am CONFIDENT the number of monkeypox infections is grossly underreported. And since there is no contact tracing happening, we will never have a real number.
Ain’t no way it’s this low. I can name three people, myself, who have gotten it in the last two weeks.
You mean to tell me that something that can spread via fomites, physical touch, aerosolized droplets, and bodily fluids has only affected 5000 people in the entire country? A lie.
Wash your hands (and yourselves) often. Wear a mask. Get vaccinated if you are able. Notice any symptoms? Get tested and isolate.
Monkeypox is everywhere, and people refuse to listen to science (and African doctors who have decades of experience treating it) and won’t isolate, so you are absolutely in danger.
This thread is older than some of your accounts. Every time I add to it, my mentions flood with reply guys saying “not all men,” or, “only some sickos.” No. Own this, fellas. These are your friends, family members, and colleagues. Don’t tell me you don’t know anyone like this.
Can’t tell who the weirdos are in your circle? Look at the responses to the most recent fly-out story.
You should question every single man who said, “He flew her out, she shouldn’t have gone if she wasn’t going to have sex with him.” That ignores consent- a rapist’s rationale.
It can take up to four weeks to recover/test negative for Monkeypox (which, by the way, doesn't have rapid testing, yet), so if a ship full of people contract and spread it, the boats won't be able to dock and those passengers are going to be stuck on board for WEEKS.
The North remembers all those ships floating with nowhere to go, unable to dock because everyone was catching COVID. The only place that would let them in? Florida. abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/mass…
Before I go on, I want to be perfectly clear that I have no material, financial, nor interpersonal responsibility to Campaign Zero nor any of its founders. Like most people, I only know what I've read. What I DO have is reading comprehension & general veteran social media status.
I just stood over my kitchen sink and did unspeakable things to a whole pound of peel and eat jumbo shrimp, and I regret nothing.
Didn’t sit down, once. It wasn’t until I threw away the packaging (after five minutes of intense scrubbing with a nail brush) that I realized they included a bib and plastic gloves in the bag. 🙃
I missed fresh seafood, so much. Looking forward to getting some vitamin sea in my life this summer.
ICYMI: residents of Japan have taken to the streets in protest because only 1% of them have been vaccinated, and they are the hosts of the upcoming Olympics.
I recently got a great glitch fare to Tokyo, but between their ban on international travel (unless you are an Olympian or trainer, I kid you not) and their lack of vaccine access, I cancelled my trip. The pandemic is FAR from over.
