What is the reason Hindus worship Yama?

Worship means the feeling or expression of reverence and adoration for a God, a person, or a thing.
#SanatanaDharma #Hinduism
YAMA is the personification of the principle of DEATH - an event which is feared by all sentient beings but an experience we must all undergo. For us Hindus, the backdrop canvas of YAMA is the cycle of karma and rebirth.
#SanatanaDharma #Hinduism
So by revering Death we contemplate upon our own fragility and mortality and learn to live in the here and now. Not regretting and getting melancholic about the past and not experiencing anxiety and dread about the future.
#SanatanaDharma #Hinduism
The exit interview with YAMA is ordained for everything that is born and when we live comfortably with our mortality and eventual death we live a more fulsome and productive life in the present.
#SanatanaDharma #Hinduism
Birth and death are the two sides of the same door. So YAMA and KĀMA - the God of desire, pleasure and of course sex, are two aspects of the same principle. In French for example the post orgasmic state is called “la petite mort” - the little death.
#SanatanaDharma #Hinduism
KAMA is the force which cause generation, birth, growth, production, flourishing and pleasure, and YAMA is the force which takes it all away the causes death, destruction, loss, sorrow and grief.
#SanatanaDharma #Hinduism
Both are inseparable principles; wherever there is birth, there is death, whenever there is gain there is loss, with every ascent there is descent, and health is always accompanied by sickness, growth with decay etc.

Signs you are meditating properly:

First thing you need to understand meditation is all about witnessing.
#Spirituality #meditation Image
Witnessing starts on 3 levels.

Body: You become aware of body's movement; lifting of hand, moving body is done consciously. Today you walk & when you reach you don't know when did you reach? Being conscious about body you are aware of it's movement.
#Spirituality #meditation Image
Thoughts: You watch your thoughts without identifying with them. You watch as if its a movie, without reacting & you know these are just thoughts, they come & go. Just a mere understanding, and you start getting dis-identified with your thoughts.

Most people do not use their MIND correctly.

Lets prove it with an experiment :

Do you know what will be your next thought?

How many thoughts during a day do you 'create' consciously?
#Spirituality #TuesdayMotivaton Image
Or does it happen randomly & unconsciously?

Aren't your actions dependent on what random thought comes & influences you?

If you aren't bringing in thoughts consciously & your actions are influenced by random thoughts, are you truly in control?
#Spirituality #TuesdayMotivaton Image
Think of your favorite mouth food right now.

Now, your favorite drink.

Now, think of something which makes you feel good

Didn't I just influence your next stream of thoughts which may end up into actions based on these thoughts planted in you?

Science cannot go beyond the object, because the very approach makes a limitation. Science cannot go beyond the outer, because only with the outer, experiments are possible.
#SanatanaDharma #Spirituality
Philosophy, logic, cannot go beyond the subjective, because it is a mind-effort, you work it out in your mind. You cannot dissolve the mind; you cannot go beyond it.
#SanatanaDharma #Spirituality
Science is objective; logic, philosophy, is subjective. Spirituality goes beyond, poetry goes beyond: it is a golden bridge. It bridges the object with the subject.
