Both TTP and Pakistani govt insist that the ceasefire is still in place, but in reality this ceasefire only exists on paper. TTP has now directly claimed 3 attacks while its B-Team groups have claimed several more over the past few weeks. Pak has also carried out CT ops.
So, what is expected here are small, targeted ops by Pakistan against selected targets while TTP & its allies will also continue their attacks. Until the situation nears a breaking point where a large-scale op can no longer be delayed.
Right now the biggest problem for the military leadership is to wait for the political issues in KP province to be sorted out. The province is ruled by Imran Khan's party, and he still holds the view that there should be no large op against TTP. His allies in establishment agree.

"The Ayatollah’s continued desire to destroy Israel is likely to trigger a preemptive response – from Israel alone, if not also from the U.S. and the West as well – that could decimate the Iranian state and ignite the Middle East and the Muslim world as a whole." Image
"It is this ‘suicide bombing’ policy of Iran that Israel intends to avoid, but if faced with the existential threat of a nuclear Iran capable of obliterating Israeli cities, then Israel will have no choice but to act, and the blame will lie with Iran and Iran alone." Image

Good thread.

This narrative is being peddled by Pakistani govt officials + some academics/intellectuals in particular. It's a way to appeal to the sensitive side of Western liberals to extract aid without taking any kind of responsibility for the dire situation Pak is in.
Pakistani state & the civil-military bureaucracy that runs it never take responsibility for what they have done to their own country and people. Even in the case of Bangladesh separation, it's all blamed on India. It's an old tradition that is simply continuing here. Nothing new
This narrative of blaming the West for the flooding in Pakistan right before asking the same West for aid is not really going to work for very long. People are already catching up on it and Pakistan doesn't have a swell reputation in the West either.
