Liverpool's interest in Moises Caicedo is long-standing dating back to his time at Independiente del Valle. The challenge back then was a complicated representation situation with a number agencies (including Kancha and PSM) claiming to act on his behalf.
Although the fee Brighton eventually paid was low (£4.5million) the agent fees were high. That put off Liverpool and Manchester United, too. Told Caicedo is now very relaxed about his future and will reassess after the World Cup.
Towards the end of the summer window, his representative agreement was running down, which caused a lot of instability and made it difficult for suitors. Caicedo also still under contract until 2025 and Brighton would love him to sign an even longer deal.
Offers are expected in January with several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on situation including #LFC and #CFC. Chelsea's current midfield priority is Ajax's Edson Alvarez but it remains to seen whether Graham Potter and Kyle Macaulay change that.
Caicedo has admitted "nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world”. And last year he told The Athletic, "My dream is to play for Manchester United. Antonio Valencia is an example to follow."
Brighton would want at least £50m and Potter's own (joking) valuation won't help matters if #CFC do enter the race. When asked about a reported £42m bid from Liverpool this summer, he replied, "You'd probably get his boots for that from the chairman, maybe! £100m?" 👀

Important to note with Chelsea's forthcoming tax bill, the liability is effectively on the old regime. Due diligence was done at such speed that when (days before the license issued) this outlay became apparent, over £100 million was withheld from the sale price to foot the bill.
It's on the new regime to pay what is owed, but they will basically deduct it from the overall agreed price established before they knew about/factored in this tax bill, and the amount earmarked is believed to be well below the number they'll have to pay.
It would be bad news if they bought the club for the same price without knowing about a large tax bill. But since paying it has been factored in to the overall price, without raising it in any way, it just means there is less in the Government fund (just over £2.3 billion).

15 Spanish players have resigned from the women’s national team in protest against head coach, Jorge Vilda, who they say has created a toxic culture & is affecting performance and mental health. RFEF refute claims calling situation “unprecedented in the history of football.”
Manchester United’s Ona Batlle is amongst the 15. Alexia Putellas is not despite verbally voicing her concerns earlier in the month directly to Luis Rubiales.
The full 15 who have resigned:
Ainhoa Vicente (Atleti)
Lola Gallardo (Atleti)
Sandra Paños (Barca)
Mapi León (Barca)
Claudia Pina (Barca)
Aitana Bonmatí (Barca)
Mariona Caldentey (Barca)
Patri Guijarro (Barca)

Juventus interest in N'Golo Kante is only superficial at this point. Lots of clubs monitoring his situation, including PSG. Juventus first enquired on Kante during dialogue surrounding then-Juve defender Matthijs de Ligt. But Max Allegri preferred Jorginho, who wasn't keen.
Suitors aware that Graham Potter's arrival may change the Kante situation, although currently no contract extension is close. Potter has always been a big fan of Kante from afar and now keen to assess his form and role when fit.
Kante one of the highest earners at the club, which complicates matters. Midfield incomings in January will naturally influence the situation, too.

Bit more on Shakhtar winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, who has two #UCL goals in two games. Mudryk is hoping for a January move and told me he "couldn't say no" to #AFC. Several European clubs now tracking him, including Newcastle, Sevilla, Leverkusen and Ajax.
Everton had a €30m bid rejected this summer. Sporting director Darijo Srna says: "Mudryk is a serious talent. After Mbappe & Vini Jr, he's the best player in Europe in his position. If someone wants to buy Mudryk they must spend a lot, a lot, a lot of money & respect our club."
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will move in January. Important to note, they never bid (or seriously considered it) in the summer. Lots of top clubs put off by Shakhtar's €50m+ valuation, and that will only rise as things stand.

Jules Kounde to L'Equipe: "I spoke [with Thomas Tuchel] and I also felt a desire to make me come, but I simply preferred Xavi’s speech. He told me that my qualities correspond to his game plan, starting from the back, playing high, using my qualities of speed and anticipation."
Xavi's clear pitch and near daily contact with Kounde made such a big difference. One call in particular changed everything, prompting Kounde to U-turn on missing Sevilla's pre-season trip to Portugal and travel with the squad.
#CFC (and Monchi, as he's said on record) felt prior to that point that Kounde was "sold" to Chelsea. Chelsea even started planning his medical.

Christoph Freund set to sign as Chelsea's new sporting director, as first reported last week. He's already verbally agreed to the role. Talks began when #CFC enquired about Benjamin Sesko in early August with Todd Boehly impressed by Red Bull model & Freund's data-led background.
Freund has spoken to Graham Potter now, who is fully behind the appointment. Salzburg aware of approach for weeks and Freund has their blessing. He's already called Chelsea "a huge club" and refused to rule out a move when asked about links during #CFC's UCL draw with Salzburg.
Chelsea still exploring appointing a technical director, too. Paul Mitchell is friendly with Freund and although keen on the sporting director role himself could yet be persuaded to work under Freund despite being sporting director and on the board at Monaco.
