My first non-profit focused on getting high school students into higher education, exposing them to various fields and doing college tours.
My favorite initiative was college application weeks/month bc it waived app fees for those who couldn't apply. Here are states doing so 🧵
I'm bumping Dakota up first because they are actually allowing ALL residents, not just HS students to apply for free for 6 weeks. ourdakotadreams.com/launch-your-dr…

Reminder that NYC pay transparency law goes into effect on Nov 1. This means companies must share the salary for all job openings, including internal transfers and promotions.
Under the law, any job advertisements must include “the minimum and maximum salary” the employer believes “in good faith . . . at the time of the posting they are willing to pay for the advertised job, promotion, or transfer opportunity.”
Only current employees may sue an employer directly for violations, but members of the public may bring complaints through the NYC Commission on Human Rights and the Commission may also initiate its own investigations.
Here's a couple tech programs and apprenticeships to help pivot into Cybersecurity roles through training, mentorship and job placement! 🧵
