The best business decisions I've ever taken so far are far from obvious.

In fact, most of them were considered bizarre or even controversial.

#SEO is strictly related to business, you can't escape from it.

Here are my 10 considerations that are quite useful 🧵
1. Build a personal brand.

Many criticized me at first because "are you an influencer???".

Most of your friends won't understand you either.

Do it anyway, it's crucial for your networking and your future.
2. Start freelancing/side projects.

It's easier to make money now if you have some modern skills.

There is no reason to sacrifice extra money that you can use for leisure.

Most of this stuff is starting to become my primary activity with time.
3. Work as a student.

My colleagues preferred to study for some useless marks, I preferred to work.

I still got the maximum score at the end + solid job opportunities and experience.

Work before you graduate to have the edge.
4. Ignored negative opinions.

You will receive a lot of criticism, some is correct, some is in bad faith.

You will always receive complaints, every single day.

Just ignore them and go on.
5. Specializing in 1-2 things.

I now do Content SEO and Analytics, other requests are declined.

I am starting to build efficient and effective systems for the most common tasks.

This would be way harder if I were a generalist like many other people.
6. Neutral policy.

It's not always possible to stay neutral but I try.

Avoiding useless conflicts is a priority for peace of mind and strategy.

I don't have any preferred side, I just get along with professional people.
7. Don't be influenced by opinions (this time ANY).

That's because comparisons kill happiness and many people could be luckier than you.

If you think something is wrong, you don't owe anyone an explanation.

Same for clients, trust your gut.
8. Value is long-term, it can't be measured in 1 year.

The final value is not something you measure in the short term.

Many gurus explode in 1-2 years and claim the throne.

This advantage doesn't usually last because it's built on sand.
9. Don't have idols or follow "money" gurus.

It's always the same BS repeated over and over.

It can work for them but not for your wallet, have some self-respect.

The actual idols you should have are those who help you every day 👀
10. Combine knowledge from different fields.

SEO + Content Marketing + Analytics.

That's my formula, easy.

Find your unique flavor and double down.

Many people go after money and lose sight of their true goals.

This is quite common on Twitter.

Pick what you like and collaborate with others to solve problems.

My choice is content, data, and strategy.

I just love their interaction.

Websites can do the same by picking specific niches.
Ignore trends if they are not suitable for you.

You have to be updated but you don't need to learn everything.

Don't pick something without synergy to your skillset.

The same goes for businesses.

Don't betray your core values just because someone else told you so.

As long as you get results, everyone's happy.
