Hibernation Day #472 | Stayed home other than a shortish dog walk. The mask ninnies were gunning for Dr. Bonnie Henry over at #bcpoli. Despite being jabbed and boosted they want their mask mandate back. Isn't going to happen. Therefore Bonnies should be fired. 1/
The bitter clinger Covidians are all about collective action. The Kraken is upon us. There's flu, time to get serious about coercing people. The fact that none of the NPIs actually worked is irrelevant. Like communism, real masking, forced jabs, have not yet been tried. 2/
But the Covidians scored a tremendous win with the BC Gov't refusing to allow unvaxed HCWs to return to their jobs. This bit of lunacy looks to be set in stone when double jabs will become a condition of employment in the near future. 3/
Not boosters, just the original two jabs which were, more or less, useless against the early variants and completely useless against Omicron. Because, well, science. Take your jabs, prove your compliance or we won't hire you. 4/
While the CDC allows as how, well, maybe, the over 65 set may be stroking out as it is boosted, PHO in Canada are all vax all the time. Adverse effects? Increased hospitalization rates? Nope, "safe and effective" and the "right thing" to do. 5/
Meanwhile, this week kicked off the war on gas cooktops. Indoor air quality and all. These weird little crusades, based on "studies" are both pointless and annoying. If you care about indoor air quality, pay attention to ventilation. Gas vs. electric is a distraction. 6/
But it is amazing to watch legacy media line up to tout the "gas bad" narrative. All the major outlets have hopped on the bandwagon. Two weeks ago gas was not a story, now it is. 7/
People who consume legacy media are easily distracted. The "current thing" keeps them looking away from real things like the climate hoax, jab deaths and disabilities, Joe Biden's paperwork, Hunter Biden's laptop, Crysta Freeland's 2 billion for a phantom company...8/
Hibernating, taking D&K, walking, sleeping well and eating simple, delicious, food seem like good things to do. #CovidIsntOver but it's fading. Climate idiocy is endemic. Stock up, smile, enjoy your life: Winter is here, Spring is coming, the days are getting longer. 9/9

A random commentor yesterday described my tweet thread as "Chicken Littleling". Which I think is interesting a) because I tend to pull my punches on the jabs, a lot, b) because the Covidians, markers, jabbers and mandatory all come from "Sky is Falling" land. 1/
From the earliest days of the "pandemic" the narrative has been relentless: "COVID is very dangerous" was the earliest theme. People pointing out that it actually had a low case/infection fatality rate and that it was really a disease of the very old were shouted down. 2/
The whole "stay home to flatten the curve" story was predicated on the idea that the hospitals would be overwhelmed. Catastrophy was just around the corner. Inflated case numbers and death numbers were used to create fear. 3/

Hibernation Day #473 | The reason why Victoria gardens are brilliant is that we start gardening in January. Or, at least, tidying up. Brilliant Day, high of 13 but much warmer in the direct sun. I did a bunch of defensive pruning. 1/
The thing about this little micro-climate is that stuff that survives grows like topsy. Today I was cutting paths to the places I want to actually prune next week. If I don't the blackberry and wild roses are impassable. And the ivy. Oh, God, the ivy. 2/
But it was warm enough to sit out on my deck when I was done and enjoy a well earned beer. For most of us, normal, with a few bumps, has returned. The bumps are not being able to travel to the US without proof of 2 jabs, understocked shelves, long waits for stuff. 3/

#VaccineDeath is trending. The "coincidences" are piling up. A few statistics are emerging which indicate that the jabs, and particularly the boosters, do very little to prevent serious illness but increase risk of cardiac events, clots and strokes. 1/
The jab proposition never made all that much sense. Why would you take a lightly trialled, irreversible, injection to reduce the danger of a disease with a 99.7% survival rate (for use olds). 2/
It might have made some sense, for the greater good, if the jabs prevented transmission and infection. But PH knew pretty much from the go that the jabs had never been tested for the prevention of infection or transmission. 3/

Hibernation Day #471 | Got a bunch of work done as the storm raged about. Horizontal rain is a thing when you live by the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Spent a bit of time following the bizarre proceedings in the witch hunt of @preta_6. 1/
Watched the cardiac arrest numbers roll in. Ms. Presley, a couple of kids, and any number of people without significant online profiles. Were they jabbed? Of course they were. You can't travel or play sports without having at least two of the damned things. 2/
The unvaxxed have made the running against the mandates and the QR-IDs so far; but the shift will come when the jabbed realize that they have been conned into a game of Russian roulette. Did they get jabbed with a "hot lot"? They'll find out in the next year. 3/

The invaluable @MichaelPSenger tweeted that what we were now in is a war for memory. He could not be more right. Today is pretty much the anniversary of Dr. Bonnie Henry throwing her hands in the air in the face of Omicron. 1/
The testing regime in BC, as in most other jurisdictions, was entirely overwhelmed with not very sick people wanting to confirm that they had COVID. Given the huge false positive rate PCR tests had, confirmation was easy. 2/
It was also pointless given that there was no actual treatment for Omicron. Henry was forced to concede that the best thing to do if you felt ill was stay home and isolate. You didn't need a test for that. 3/

Hibernation Day #453 | The truth is I started the day more than a little hungover. Christmas and all. Did a bit of work, took a short walk, drove the kids to Magic and then home to Date Night #2 with my lovely Susan. Lovely cocktails by the fire. 1/
Just because you are hibernating there is no reason to let your life slip into glide. We've been doing cocktails for well over a decade. Susan dresses and puts on pretty makeup. I remain scruffy but plate hors' d'oeuvres. It's all good. 2/
The COVID narrative continues to be deconstructed. Why, yes, Twitter did silence contra narrative voices and science. This is not, frankly, a surprise. If you were paying attention some of the smartest people were being kicked off Twitter. (And FB/Google...) 3/
