Shiny is NOW in Python + FREE TRAINING

Here's what I did (and how to get your hands on this free training). 🧵

#rstats #python #datascience Image
Yesterday I hosted 768 data scientists in my PyShiny 60-minute+ workshop.

The feedback is in.

They LOVED Shiny for Python.
Students were mind-blown.

I had people saying how crazy valuable the training was and thanking me for putting it on live yesterday for free.
Why did they go nuts?

It's because I gave them these...
1. My 4-step build process for building Shiny Apps in Python (and R)

2. The secret way to automate any analysis

3. How to pull data from yfinance API
4. How to automate a Financial Analysis (or ANY business analysis)

5. How to make PyShiny apps look so good your boss would be stupid not to give you a raise

6. The easiest way to transition from R Shiny to PyShiny
7. BONUS app: See an example of an app that could get you a 15% raise
Because everyone loved it so much, I've made the recording available on YouTube (for free)...

...at the risk of ticking my paying students off
Here's how to get your hands on it:

I see a massive shift in the way businesses are succeeding with data science.

It’s a trend to what I call the Business Scientist.

Why? Read thread🧵

Do you agree?
Data Science teams are bloated for 95% of projects.

Most projects are small and need to be done fast.

Lack of speed infuriates executives.

So a change must happen.
Enter the Business Scientist.

The business scientist role is a combo of a full stack data scientist that can understand business requirements and deploy small solutions fast. Image

One of my biggest mistakes when I began learning data science - I believed everything I heard.

Don’t do this. 🧵

#datascience #rstats #python Image
Here are 2 of the biggest fallacies that cost me time.

I hear that data scientists must be experts in:
👉Math: advanced calculus, matrix math, statistical analysis, the list goes on.

I can count on one hand how many times I’ve used advanced calculus.

Stop spending so much time on theory.

Do this instead.

#rstats #python #datascience Image
If your plan to become a data scientist involves learning:

1. Calculus
2. Matrix multiplication
3. Linear algebra
4. Graph theory
5. How every algorithm "works"
6. Coding algorithms from scratch
7. Advanced probability theory (with proofs)

Then you're wasting your time.
How do I know?

Because I've wasted a lot of time in my 10+ year journey.

And it cost me jobs I couldn't have gotten quicker and promotions I could have had faster. 😡

And I don't want to see you struggle as I did.

Bold prediction for 2023: The Birth Of The Business Scientist.

Here's what is about to happen. 🧵

#datasciecne #rstats #python Image
According to Glassdoor research, we already have:

1. Data Analyst, $71,298/yr
2. Business Analyst, $83,924/yr
3. Data Scientist, $124,680/yr

But noticeably missing is the "Business Scientist".
So what is a "Business Scientist"?

And why are we about to see the birth of this new role?

Finance + data analysis + visualization + Shiny...

...in Python?

Here's what I'm up to... 🧵

#datascience #python #rstats #finance
Python is NOT in shortage of web frameworks.

In fact, I've tallied up 24 web application frameworks through my research.

But there's one that 99.9% of data scientists are overlooking.
Shiny for python was recently released in "beta".

But truth be told... It looks way better than beta.

It's ready for prime time in one of my data science workshops.

Marketing analytics is a $250,000,000,000 opportunity for companies.

But few companies have the data science talent to make it happen.

Let's fix that. 🧵

McKinsey just released their state of AI report for 2022 (and beyond).

One of my key takeaways is how big of an impact AI is having on marketing and sales...

mckinsey.com/capabilities/q…
...But the sad fact is that the majority of companies STILL aren't using data science to improve.

Why?

They don't know how.
