Initial results from the dating app deal-breaker survey.

An infographic with some basic descriptives: deal-breakers for men. Image
I have two ways of scoring the items: in this survey I asked people to indicate their willingness to reject a profile on a scale of 1 to 5, with five being an absolute certain rejection.

These figures are the percentage of men who gave the item a 5, or absolute rejection: Image
These are also absolute rejection, the % of 5's.

Septum piercings, single moms, and listed pronouns were relatively high up there.

Piercings in general only had a 4.55% absolute rejection, for comparison. Image
Here I have items categorized by "high score," so totalling up the rating given across participants and presenting them as a percentage of a maximum total. Image
Here are some of the low scores: what men didn't care about very much.

Alcohol use doesn't seem to matter much (unlike drugs and tobacco).

The two religion items (not being a Christian and alternative spiritual beliefs) also didn't result in much rejection. Image
The only two items across the entire survey that got over 50% absolute rejection were the OF and Venmo questions.

Even items like "woman has a disorderly appearance" only got 10% of men who said they would absolutely swipe left.

Good news for messy girls!
I haven't even looked at the female data yet, so - coming soon.

Here is the second part of the dating app deal-breaker survey: deal-breakers for women and comparisons between women and men. Image
The deal breakers women most agreed upon were profiles with violence or aggression, crude sexual content, and racism/bigotry.

Women also indicated strong rejection for profiles that had negative framings or non-monogamy. Image
Not having a biography is a common mistake, although only a quarter of women indicated they would absolutely reject a profile without a biography.

28% of women also said they would reject male profiles that listed preferred pronouns in their bio. Image

“Sexually inexperienced” individuals, or the ones who have only had sex with their spouse, are the one’s mostly likely to be flourishing in marriage." ImageImage
This is something that I think will be counterintuitive for a lot of people, especially if they didn't have the high school or early college LTR experience.

Very common belief that a higher number of sexual partners somehow means that the sex is better.
Of course this is kind of like believing that playing on lots of different basketball courts makes you a better player than simply playing on the same one a lot.

"Women reported orgasms in 11 percent of first hookups, 16 percent of second or third hookups, 34 percent of higher-order hookups, and 67 percent of relationship sexual events." 🧵 Image
"Women reported that they enjoyed the sexual activity very much in 50 percent of hookups (and 81 percent of relationship sexual events)." Image
"Within relationship events, the probability of orgasm without intercourse was 53 percent, whereas with intercourse it was 75 percent.

Vaginal intercourse thus appears more predictive of women’s orgasm than some authors have suggested." Image

This is a paper on dating and social interventions for young adults with autism. Small sample, but produced some lasting changes in social skills.

A description of the intervention: ImageImage
This part is interesting: initially, participants couldn't correctly answer basic questions about dating skills, performing no better than chance. ImageImage

This is self report methodology guys, it isn't a "revealed preference" measure.

Women were presented with photos and asked "would you date."
I'm not critiquing the methodology or saying the finding is bad/wrong, I have used the same methodology here:

datepsychology.com/facial-attract…
Anyway, I think it is remarkable in the first paper that only 68% chose the most attractive man.

How blackpilling is that really, that 32% of women would pick a less attractive man?
