"I always 1/13
wondered why someone didn't do something about that until I realized I am somebody"

First off I'd like to say thank you for having me here today its a honor to be hear to speak and represent the people. My name is Dominique Zacherle I am a 24 year old Native American women 2/13
from the Colville Confederated tribes here in Washington State I currently reside on the reservation in Keller, Washington. I am here today to bring light to some up coming actions and concerns I have.

These are not just tribal issue's we face or just community issue's or 3/13
even just state issue's these are nation wide issue's. We need to gain allies and spread awareness and information on these gruesome statistics and problems because we cant do it alone in Indian country. We are shoved under the rug by corruption even in our own homelands. 4/13
People often involved in the Tribal Council's condone illegal activities and then the failed Court System's do not help the people. We face murder, rape, domestic violence, drug abuse and sex trafficking in numbers more higher then any other statistic. Many of the Native 5/13
American women who have disappeared were part of commercial sex trafficking rings, the majority of victims being Native American teens. Our abusers are often the ones in power or are gaining profits from paid out endorsements from off reservation sources, so choose to live 6/13
with blinded eyes. Our tribal resource's are being exploited and environmental program's being dismantled. Tribal members are afraid to speak up because of fear of retaliation , losing jobs, future employment or even housing. I'm here today to say we will not be silent 7/13
anymore, we will not be shoved under the rug anymore and we will fight to bring light.

On February 16, 2018 – July 16, 2018 in Blaine Washington to Washington D.C. The Longest Walk 5.3 will be put on by The American Indian Movement to bring awareness to end Domestic 8/13
Violence, Drug Abuse & to walk with our lost and stolen sisters spirits. The group will stop in different towns, cities where communities will house them. Feasts and ceremony's with the community and elders will be held in participating reservations. To help promote culture 9/13
preservation for our future generations and show the nation we are still here. The MAC Movement will be gathering contributions to bring to aid the sisters and brothers who will be walking the whole journey. They plan on coming through the Spokane Reservation and then to 10/13
Colville around the beginning of March. Routes are still being finalized. We will be sure to keep the community updated on the passing through. We are asking all allies, all walks of life/ all nations to come with us, pray with us, sing with us, heal with us and walk with 11/13
us. We are all in this journey together we are all native to this beautiful place we call earth. I am not just a Native American women from the Colville Confederated tribes but I am also one of the many 66% of Native Women who've experienced psychological violence, 56% who 12/13
experienced sexual violence, 55% who experienced physical violence from an intimate partner, and apart of the 49% that have experienced stalking. I will not stay silent and I am not scared. #metoo. 13/13
