I read this and at that exact moment realized something. I'm tired of white dude journalists telling me what to admire about the white dudes who are destroying everything.
It's fucking gross watching white men find that common ground that let's us know they understand each other. Even the most egregious perpetrators get that knowing nod from other white men.

Are you fucking kidding me? Paul Ryan is one of the biggest political villains in modern history. But it doesn't surprise me that white men all along the political spectrum don't want to treat him too harshly.
This message isn't for me. It's not for the women and people of color who's lives are being destroyed. It's for other white men. The ones who are comfortable because they live on our backs. They are reminding each other of where they sit.
We talk about dog whistles. I can't help but feel like this is one of the most insidious ones. White supremacy recognizes itself. They find ways to remind each other that whatever, they do, they can't really be condemned.
