There is a lot of misinformation & DISinformation going around about #TriggerBallot’s
Labour members can for the first time, choose to have a full democratic selection process for the candidate representing their local constituency at the next election
#DemocracyMeansYOU
#TriggerBallot‘s are about #DemocraticAccountability (NOT ‘deselection’ - but #FullSelection)

Having a democratic representative of a local group or organisation periodically stand for #Reselection is a basic democratic principle - it is not contentious

Here’s the dates for this week’s Lewisham Deptford meetings for Full Selection (these meetings are called ‘Trigger Ballots’)

1. You have to vote in person
2. You must bring your membership card
(and good to bring another form of ID)
3. You must be on time

#DemocracyMeansYou! 👍
To be eligible to attend you must have been registered as living in your branch area prior to 31 July, have been a member 6 months prior, & cleared any arrears due on 31 Jan 2019 (these can be cleared at any point from now until the meeting, including at the door of the meeting)

@JohnAmaechi That is to fall into the trap set by the anti-Corbyn/anti-Labour narrative - just because lots of people believe something doesn’t actually necessarily make it actually true
@JohnAmaechi There is nothing sound or objective about critiques which are based on disinformation and lies - the BBC analysis of the #LocalElections is exactly that; neither sound, nor objective
@JohnAmaechi Here’s an example of @BBCNews setting a narrative at 4:36 this morning (which has pretty much stuck all day despite, atthat time, very few seats being declared to make that judgement) vs the reality later just now

Synopsis: @MarkDavyd from @MusicVenueTrust slags off Corbyn tweet re buses; says Corbyn tweets too much about buses; that nobody cares about buses; I say rubbish; he says ‘bad campaigining’; I say ‘MVT lack of support for Gay/LGBT venues IS bad campaigning’; he goes gaga - TheEnd
Background: for several years I’ve been speaking with Mark & his partner about MVT also supporting Gay/LGBT venues/performance spaces (MVT support music venues). We’ve had conversations by tweet, email, & phone; I also raised it to them as a question at MU London AGM - NOTHING
2019: as far as I know MVT has done absolutely zilch to help support Gay/LGBT venues; despite saying they would, and asking me to ‘keep reminding them’; each time we’ve spoken their responses show a definite lack of understanding of Gay/LGBT issues combined with lame excuses
