Could be a long night. Lindsey Graham said they are going to request voice votes individually on all 376 pending military nominations being blocked by Tuberville. Tuberville is blocking every one of his fellow Republicans’ requests. They are visibly angry. Sullivan is seething with anger. Calls Tuberville’s blockade “a national security suicide mission”

Ohio votes today on whether to make it harder to amend the state constitution. Powerful business groups seeking to block a minimum wage hike have allied with anti-abortion advocates hoping to head off a restoration of abortion rights —> FREE GIFT LINK —>

Image Abortion foes want to block a return to Roe rights. A restaurant group worries voters could force them to pay higher wages. A farm group worries voters might regulate livestock practices. Others: marijuana. They are teaming up to end majority rule on constitutional amendments.

Turn right at Northwest Branch Trail. Then take East side Anacostia trail to Nationals Park. Go west to Potomac River/Wharf trail. Get falafel to go. Go to Wash Monument. Eat in shade. Just FYI, there is nothing in the debt deal that actually forces Congress to pass 12 appropriations bills or to stay under the spending caps. Congress can do an omnibus and not trigger automatic spending cuts.

Lindsey Graham tells @AriNatter he plans to introduce a carbon border adjustment bill as soon as next week; the idea is to incentivize global emission reductions while giving credit to cleaner US producers.
It's one *big* climate idea w/rare GOP support

George Santos bragged he got an MBA from NYU with zero debt while lamenting that the youth of America think they will get things for free without working hard. I guess that’s one way to solve the student loan problem. Just don’t go and say you did!

This amounts to a HUGE pay raise for members of the House of Representatives. They can now get hotel rooms, meals, apartments etc. in DC paid for by taxpayers. Lawmakers in both parties often want higher pay but rarely want to vote for it. Before 2009, Steny Hoyer and Roy Blunt would team up to find bipartisan votes for the annual COLA.

I finally have the Tesla "Full Self-Driving" Beta. It failed multiple times in the first mile from my house. Not really useable yet for me. Hopefully will get better to the point it is useful, like Navigate on Autopilot is on highways, but feels like it has a LOOONG way to go. It doesn't drive naturally. There are herky-jerky movements. It tried to take a right on red where there is a sign saying No Turn on Red. It was about to turn into an exit at my son's school. Sometimes just stops. It does good job recognizing curbs & following well-marked lanes.

If the filibuster didn't exist, Democrats wouldn't be negotiating a deal with Rs right now. They could just straight up pass:
Immigration
Minimum wage
Debt limit
Voting rights
Abortion rights
Manchin permitting bill
Marijuana banking
$10 minimum wage
2-year omnibus
Etc. Fun fact: Congress can pass permanent mandatory appropriations, except for one thing: war funding is capped at two years in the Constitution.
