I dunno if this has gotten traction elsewhere but this is the first time I've seen it and it is... not an ideal thing for the NCAA to be promoting. You don't see a single issue with a guy denigrating an entire religion by calling Muhammad a "false prophet"? Really?

Shortly, @Fla_Pol is going to publish the results of a "poll" run by the mayor & @SenJanetCruz intended to portray public support for toilet-to-tap (aka "PURE") & opposition to the 4 charter amendments.

What they won't tell you is how the questions were phrased. Here they are: (I was just polled myself, which is how I have the questions.)

Before asking if the person being polled supports or opposes the amendments, they are told that city council is made up of "career politicians who are dysfunctional and will put their cronies on the city payroll"

Joe Buck stated it on-air as fact four separate times so figuring out who is lying should be pretty straightforward. The first mention of the "resume play after five minutes" came at 9:15 Eastern. The NFL could have contacted its broadcast partner immediately to correct that, were it inaccurate information, but did not—and it was repeated on-air even as the broadcast show closed at 10:54.

England-USA on Friday had more U.S. viewers than all but one World Series game over the past five years (2019 Game 7 had more) despite it kicking off in the morning in half the country 20 years ago, the most-watched soccer match in U.S. history was the 1999 women's World Cup final. 17.9 million people watched it. Every game of the 1999 World Series had more viewers.

England, England, England
It's such a shitty place
The last time that I went there
I couldn't feel my face
And when it comes to soccer,
Their team, it sucks so hard.
I hate to say
The U.S.A.
Will leave them fully scarred. No longer have they Rooney
Frank Lampard, he's gone too.
The ones who have replaced them
Are stinkier than poo.
Jack Grealish is a monster
As ugly as his name
But he's still better-looking than
That goony Harry Kane.

a reminder, again, that the nature of MLB's playoff structure is such that the winners are no more predictable than coin flips and there is literally no conclusions you can draw about a team's alleged strengths or weaknesses based on which team wins three games out of five. "In order to approach the level of parity (or lack thereof) of the NBA playoffs, MLB would have to switch to a 16-team tournament in which each round was approximately 75-game series."

it's random. accept that and you'll stress a lot less

June 28, 2007. I learn that @wikinews exists & that its "newsroom" is an IRC channel. I'd been a pretty consistent Wikipedia editor for years, but had been out of journalism for half a decade. I decide to drop in and see what's up. 🧵 Back to this thread. I show up in the Wikinews IRC channel & I see that there's news breaking. 14 hrs before police entered Chris Benoit's home to find the wrestler and his family dead, his Wikipedia page had been edited to say that Benoit's wife Nancy had died.

One-shot networks (games broadcast on them disappear forever unless captured live, as they have no on-demand portals with complete games):

CBS & CBSSN
P12 nets
Everything Fox (barring B1G games, see below) One-shot AIRINGS networks (games broadcast on them have on-demand portals, but the broadcasts themselves are not replayed in their entirety or close to entirety):

BTN
B1G games on other networks

ESPN re-airs most of what it shows live in as close to entirety as they can.
