A few people have asked us to post the text pictures we've been using to counter common anti-Indigneous/racism/white supremacist arguments here on Twitter.

These are released under Creative Commons, so feel free to use them.

Suggestions, additions & corrections are welcomed! /1
The first one is intended to counter people who say that they are not responsible for “the acts of their [Settler] ancestors”, and ignore/deny/reject that setter-colonialism is both ongoing and we Settlers unjustly benefit from it: /2

Lots and lots of anti-Indigenous trolls coming out as the powers-that-be try to regain control of the narrative.

Here’s a quick rundown on their tactics:

#Wetsuweten #WetsuwetenStrong #Unistoten
Tactic #1 - “rule of law”.

They’re ignoring that Canada is in violation of their own law, and that Canada’s law isn’t even on a strong foundation, since it’s based on the colonial concepts of the Doctrine of discovery and Terra Nullius.

#Wetsuweten #WetsuwetenStrong #Unistoten
Tactic #2 - “democratically elected chiefs"

They’re ignoring that the colonial Indian Act tries to destroy Indigenous Nations, and elected chiefs only have jurisdiction for reserves. We’ve even turned “democracy” into a colonial weapon.

THREAD: #TransMountain #TMX

With the decision of the second Supreme Court of Canada case about Indigenous Rights and the TransMountain Expansion project being released later this morning, here is a thread talking about this project and how it violates Indigenous Rights. 1/22
Consent has not been obtained for the original pipeline, and many Indigenous Nations have also not given Free, Prior and Informed Consent for the expansion. 2/22 #TransMountain #TMX
Existing pipeline is a huge environmental liability and the expansion is not much better.

Indigenous Nations have a right to say “No”, in order to protect their Land & Way Of Life.

Canada “cannot put the land to uses which would destroy that value”. 3/22
