Recently the number of addresses that originally claimed a punk was mentioned in the cryptopunks discord.

This amount surprised me so much that I could hardly believe it & decided to do a little blockchain digging myself.

The cryptopunk contract was released on June 6th 2017.

As many might know these were free to claim. In return LarvaLabs kept the first 1000 for themselves.

Lesser known is that after that they claimed 8 more punks 👇
I specifically say claimed, because all punks were pre-minted. You had go to the website, find one that was available and execute the "getPunk()" method on the contract in order to claim one 👇
