The sleuths among you will already have noticed the presence of a ⅗ multi-sig controlling 2% of the $HOP supply.

It exists in case the community wants to quickly pass first proposals following the $HOP launch without having to go through full on-chain governance (only snapshot)
Signers consist of community members: @_khanhamzah, @mynameiswriter, @l2beat, @dmihal & @ActuallyMentor.

Note that governance can remove the signers or decide to withdraw the tokens into the treasury at any time.

As we’ve received this question numerous times: the initial circulating supply (provided everybody claims) is 54.8m HOP.

Before claiming you’ll have to choose a delegate that will represent you in governance.

Choose wisely as they will decide Hop’s future: which pools to incentivize, which tokens & chains to add next and how to distribute grants etc.

Knowing how important a healthy token distribution is for a DAO we worked hard to remove sybil attackers from the distribution.

Sybil attackers stand directly at odds with a healthy distribution and attempt to take tokens that should be in the hands of positive-sum users.
After 2 months of heavy data crunching we were able to identify 10k Sybil attackers (beyond doubt)out of 45k eligible addresses

But we’re not stopping here. We invite the whole Web3 community in helping us find Sybil attackers and increase the $HOP allocation of legitimate users

Our twitter has been quiet the past two weeks so it’s time for an update.

First off, the growth of the Layer-2 ecosystem is astonishing.

As an Ethereum bridge Hop thrives and dies with the success of L2’s.
From fiat on-ramps to @arbitrum coming from major centralised exchanges to EVM equivalence for @Optimism and removal of the whitelist: all the pieces are falling into place and we’re starting to see a cambrian explosion of innovation.

We have seen this growth first hand.

Since launch, our transfer volumes have increased nearly every week and every month.
