If we’re all in on the fight for universal basic income and human-centered capitalism, we can’t afford to hinge it all on one election. @AndrewYang is a beacon of hope but if he wins, it’s just the beginning. We must become resilient and future-focused. #YangGang
In the next few weeks, the truth about this race’s wild trajectory will be revealed. Watch the stubbornness of the candidates biting at the frontrunners’ heels. They all know it: the polls might as well be astrology. Anyone can win.
That said, the odds are against us, even as we grow. Other candidates have billions of dollars and vast political networks cultivated over years or decades. We are the underdogs by far.

But win or lose, I believe that UBI is our political destiny, if we make it so.

Hey #YangGang

I wanted to make a small thread about the state of the election as I see it.

I've noticed alot of negativity around the campaign and I honestly dont see why.
The race began with over two dozen contenders. At that time, Yang was a complete unknown, and almost all conventional wisdom predicted he would have suspended his campaign at this point.

Hes currently 5th in some polling.

Let's look at his competition.
Castro, and Booker have stalled campaigns. Neither have shown any consistent growth, and both have failed to generate a large following.

As for Steyer, his entire campaign was contingent upon his wealth. Bloomberg has made him redundant.

The thing that frustrates me most about the #YangMediaBlackout is that a RUMOR about @DevalPatrick or @MikeBloomberg or @HillaryClinton gets more news cycles than @AndrewYang and @TulsiGabbard actually participating in the race put together.

Just when I think
#YangGang can no longer be ignored, another excuse to ignore us pops up out of the woodwork!!!

When these people fail and drop out, they will ALSO be stealing media time from us.

11 weeks to Iowa, and the following news cycles have yet to happen:

(1) Julian Castro dropping out
(2) Cory Booker dropping out

(3) Kamala Harris dropping out - and THIS media cycle will probably last 2-3 days, too, with lots of shocked "what happened?!?" click-bait

(4) Deval Patrick's kickoff event

(5) Deval Patrick dropping out

(6) Amy Klobuchar running short on money

Hey #YangGang

I wanted to make a small thread clarifying that exchange between Pete Buttigieg and our newest Yangster Tulsi Gabbard.

Pete claimed the Syrian war wasnt about regime change.

The reality is very different.
This war, like all the rest, is about money and geopolitical power.

Saudi Arabia is a major enegtgy producer and exporter in the global economy. Their ruling elites are from an extreme Sunni Islamic sect known as wahhabism.

They are arch enemies with Shia lead Iran and Syria.
Recently, the Saudis have looked to expand their natural gas exports to Europe. Doing so would require building a pipeline that runs through Syria. Compliance with this business idea would require regime change, as current president Bashar Assad is a Shia Muslim.

Been thinking about @AndrewYang’s social media strategy. He almost invariably avoids commenting on the news cycle.

Why? A few reasons (thread):

#YangGang #SecureTheBag @yangganghub @scottsantens
1) Trump controls the news cycle. That’s how he won in ‘16; he leveraged their attention. Now they hang on his every thought.
2) Nearly every other candidate is a link in the media chain. They comment dutifully on every Trump controversy. They react, and in doing so, they follow Trump’s lead. He sets the tone. It’s his world, the Democrats are just living in it.

Why @AndrewYang’s campaign is brilliant: a thread, with predictions at the end. #YangGang #Yang2020 @scottsantens

After 2016, I felt disenfranchised. All the emotional energy I put into the Sanders campaign — and then Clinton — felt wasted.
So in ‘17 and ‘18, I started looking into what went wrong. I had become a boilerplate social justice progressive up until that point. My gut told me that we had been blindsided by Trump because we fundamentally misread the room.
So I started paying attention to political outsiders who challenged liberal and conservative orthodoxies.

Finally, in 2018, I read an interview with Yang. He had decided to run for President on UBI. At the time, his website was threadbare — he seemed like an intriguing blip.

One hot take
1) We use "conservative" for the wrong group of people in the English-speaking world. The pro-status quo faction in English language politics is invariably progressive.
2) Xi has way less power in the Chinese central leadership than Western media reports indicate but you'll never hear them break that narrative because reporters are too lazy to study the situation in Mandarin and audiences are too lazy to build a new model that isn't "Stalin".

So you've decided to vote for @AndrewYang.

But what else can you to do help him win?

For new donors, as little as $1 counts, and will increase Yang's individual donor count, which is a crucial metric.

Money is the fuel that campaigns run on. The more money raised, the farther he can go. Fundraising also = press coverage.…
2. Donate again!

If you've donated in the past, please consider making another contribution, and/or setting up recurring donations. This is important. If you can afford to chip in another $20, it moves the needle. #SecureTheBag…
