So...I'm watching #TOWIE (yes, judge me). And I'm genuinely disturbed by the exhibition of controlling, coercive and abusive behaviour traits that the men on the show exhibit.

I've just watched one guy see his girlfriend cry. He's reacted by shouting at her repeatedly and calling her 'fucking spoilt'.

He's told her, and anyone that would listen, that her female friends who have come to her side out of concern are 'not her real friends'

He then vocally abused one of the friends by slutshaming her

Then the next day, over breakfast she's said that she really loves him, that he's only like that 10% of that time and that it's a complicated love to understand

There is no consequence to his behaviour. His controlling and abusive behaviour is normalised, his belittling of her friends pushed to one side and it's all wrapped up in the idea that this is a loving relationship. It's not.

You can surely do better @itv2 than to glamourise psychologically damaging behaviour in the name of 'entertainment'?
