Something about 7s that they don’t teach ya in the summaries...
When we introvert, we introvert hard. We can disappear for weeks - totally fall off the grid - in our own little world of “anything but the feels” when we are out of energy to be fully present. #millenneagram
Sometimes it means something is out of whack.
Sometimes it just means we need to be alone and catch up to ourselves.
Sometimes it means we’re tired of being funny - the life of the party.
Sometimes it means we’re in a deep depression.
But it’s us through and through.
Each type is so nuanced and speaking as a 7, I think that’s one of the ways we are most misunderstood.
It’s not that we are totally averse to deep, dark waters. It’s just that we often have to go there alone before we let you experience that part of us.
When a 7 retreats, don’t assume they aren’t themselves. Know that sometimes, the social expectation of being the lighthearted one is a weight in and of itself. Sure - we like to live there. But many of us fight for that in-the-moment contagious joy that others come to love.
7s need people when they are the ones helping folks trade their troubles for enjoyment.
And 7s need people [even more?] when they are soaking in the weight they have attempted to numb or avoid, because often, they don’t know how to crawl out of the dark once they find it.
No number can be boxed in, no matter how glorified their highs may seem.
I know so many other 7s who are so afraid to sit with the hard and heavy. 7s need other friends to help them not disappear when they finally arrive at the brink of real, raw, and aching. #millenneagram
What do you wish folks knew about your enneagram number?
What do you think people would be surprised by?
(ps did you know 7s are more prone to addiction and suicide than any other number?)
