Coordinating communications is among the hardest and more critical tasks to prevent conflagrations. Take a listen. #WoolseyFire

@LAFD Fire 4 making water drops over the #WoolseyFire

Even w/ more than 250 regular in service fire companies between @LAFD & @LACOFD, resources are stretched thin, and protecting homes near the coast seems to be priority. These are major, active fires. They will burn many homes. The firefighters and camp crews will save many more.

I live near Koreatown. The thick plumes of smoke to the West are from the #WoolseyFire. Then, columns of smoke over the iconic Hollywood sign. And another view of the #GriffithParkFire.

Among the real heroes - the correctional facility camp crews who dig trenches and try to create containment lines around the fires. They save lives and homes. #WoolseyFire #GriffithParkFire

Twice in six years, @LAFD has saved the apartments I’ve lived in from destruction. (These were normal fires. There are lotsa normal fires in LA.). Mad gratitude. So when they say evacuate, or don’t go here, or do go there, I listen. That’s the best way to support them.

I have an urge to Tweet about celebs conspicuously evacuating and updating us on the status of their pets. I will refrain. Thousands of vulnerable people are fleeing and they don’t have Twitter accounts to give us the nitty-gritty. And their livelihoods are in mortal peril.

Ok. I couldn’t resist the urge. I virtue signaled. But seriously. Forget about the celebs. Donate to the Red Cross and other local organizations.
