This is to announce the postponement of the official flag off of our campaign in Baruten, Kwara North senatorial district, for security reasons. We got security briefings that some political thugs had been mobilised to not just disrupt the historic event but
to ensure the loss of lives and breach of public peace.
Regrettable as it was, the decision to suspend the event and take more adequate security measures is the best in the circumstance because we believe that
our people do not have to die or suffer life-threatening injuries for whatever political reasons. We believe all of us must witness the peaceful and democratic birth of a new dawn in Kwara next year.
We deeply regret the inconveniences this decision has caused hundreds of thousands of our supporters and ordinary citizens across the state who were already on their way to Baruten to attend the historic #Otoge rally. We are truly sorry!
A new date will be communicated in due course even as we urge our supporters to shun very form of violence in the face of provocations from our opponents.
