1 - According to a survey carried out by @davidgraeber and a poll in Holland, almost 40% of people believe their job is pointless (#bullshitjobs).
Add to that "second-order bullshit jobs, real jobs done in support of those engaged in bullshit".

2 - In his book Spent, Geoffrey Miller refers to the observation by XIX century American minister, Elias Root Beadle, that "half the work that is done in the world is to make things appear what they are not". And that was long before many jobs were automated away.
3 - Add the fact that many white collar jobs will be or could be robotized away (even in #education -Youtube videos- and health care -AI) in the next decades.
Thus, we may safely conclude that at least 50% of all jobs could be eliminated without a big impact in our daily lives.
4 - Such huge inefficiencies can only be explained if the main goal of capitalism has become the creation of JOBS rather than wealth. The latter would be a by-product of the former. Demographic and migration pressures have converted capitalism into some kind of #wastism.
