#Comics #ComicCulture #ComicCon #Storyboarding.
I am looking for piece of advice on the following idea. I want to be an enabler to spread comic culture. I want to build a platform that enable people socially to produce and consume comics. There are plenty of arts graduate

those who don't know to connect various step from procrastination to sales.
I have taken this idea from Japan. Japan is popular for its Manga comics, TV Series and Movies. How do they do it? It is a very step by step traditional business process they follow. At stage 1,

locally 1-2 writers and 2-3 artist collaborate and create a comic in all black and white sketches. It's easy to manage interpersonal relationship between 2-3 people. They publish it locally in their area through digital channels, local news papers or local comic magazines.

Creating something in black and white save on labour cost and printing cost. Coloring a comic is a tedious process. It requires huge number of iterations to decide the right colors on each page. It requires costly coloring gadgets. It requires skilled coloring artist those

who are different from sketching artist. These artists have specialized in color theory. Coloring is a time consuming job. Printing color is another complicated and costly process. If the volume is less offset printing can’t be used and the cost rise high. On the other

hand black and white sketching is a one man’s job. It keeps the person sane as there is no need for multi tasking. He sit in his bench start drawing pages after pages and finish a considerable amount of work by evening without deviating. When a story is released for the

first time, the risk of success and failure is unknown thus black and white comic will keep the risk at low and give the power to create and conceptualize the comics to a small team of 2-3 people.

The next stage 2, is to collect these comics from different localities and

pick the ones which sold well or have a good storyline. Then polish the art form and story a little more to publish them in a color magazine. Now that the stories have locally succeeded the chances of their success in a wider market is measurable. Thus efforts can be put

into coloring and improvement of the art form and storyline. This is the way magazine will maintain its reputation.

The next stage 3, is to collect the most liked stories for the magazine and create manga 2d cartoons from them like Samurai Jack, Dragon Ball z, Pokemon etc.

These stages will help to cut some slack (cost, labour, risk and effort). As with stage 1 base characters are already established with their base personality and the black and white comic could be used as basic storyboarding. With stage 2 characters are colored and improved

which can be used in animatics. At this point of stage 3 little more improvisation could be done incrementally to the art form and storyline.

The next stage 4, will be to collect the best of 2d cartoons and then convert them into 3d movies and 3d games. At this point

character artform has matured enough along with storyline. It have succeeded enough in stage 1, 2 & 3 that the success probability is high and big investments could channel in.

Comic is not a need like food, it's an experience market. There exist two aspect of such a

Business. Cultivating the need and fulfilling the need simultaneously. The stories in the comics will have subtle hints of Northeast India tourism. These comics will depict the alter ego of northeast tourism. Such as the name of the places, transportation, dressing sense,

greetings, cultural stereotypes and cuisines will be used to local standards. I want my readers to have expectations from Northeast. I want them to know the places in and around Northeast through my comics. Stories in my comics will sweep the users off their feet in the

same way, that they will look forward to visit a place and be a part of an experience. When they will visit a place the reminiscence of the comic story will rejuvenate in their mind making them spirited. The comics will also create an Experience Identity for Northeast.

Goa have an Experience Identity. People visit Goa to do a certain things and feel in a certain way. Similarly people visit Ladakh, Puri, Puducherry, Kullu-Manali, Ooty and each one of them have their own identity experience. This is the way comics and tourism will influence

each other, coexist and could survive for a longer duration by making Northeast just not a one time destination but a routine experience destination.
