According to @NASJax_ the Boeing 737 appears to have skidded off the airport runway while trying to land and ended up in the St. Johns River.
This was a @CharterMiamiAir flight.
The flight was arriving from @USNavy Air Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba when it skidded off the runway at @NASJax_.

There was very briefly an intense rain storm with lightning at the time the 737 landed at @NASJax_, according to meteorologists.

21 people, all adults, from the plane transported to various hospitals, according to @JFRDJAX spokesman Tom Francis.
Gitmo defense attorney Cheryl Bormann, who was on the plane, tells @CNN that jet fuel was leaking into the water after the 737 went into the river, but "nobody panicked" as passengers evacuated the aircraft.
