/6 Thank you @njcar for speaking to my @sgSMU #productmanagemen class tonight! t Key takeaways:

/6 Are you solving a real problem for someone? ..."nirvana" or the "best level" is if someone knows they have a problem, they've tried to solve it before themselves and they failed. If you can find that and you can build anything that helps them, you've really figured it out.

/6 Do they LOVE your solution? It's really, really, really hard to build something that people love. When you're showing it to family and friends, people will say "Oh, this is great. I could use this" That's not love. And, they're the wrong people.

/6 They love you, so they're going to love, by association, your product. It's not going to be a really true, good signal. What you want is, you want a stranger to love your product. There're a lot of ways that you can see love. It's them bringing it up in a conversation..

/6 ...mentioning something about your product that's so specific that they've connected with that you wouldn't expect. That's an example of love, when they're talking about it on Twitter.

/6 And thirdly, Really understanding your market. How many people actually have this problem? How will you turn this into a business?
